This rustic cabin is a great vacation spot for those looking for a relaxing break from the fast pace of life.

This log cabin includes a full kitchen, full bathroom, two beds including one double and one queen bed, a relaxing sitting area, and a covered wood deck with a patio set.

The space
This rustic framed house sits on a one acre parcel in the center of the Rostad Ranch, located four miles south of Big Timber, Montana. The Rostad Ranch is a multi-generational working ranch, dating back to the early 1900’s.

This log cabin sits four hundred yards from the award winning Boulder River. Big Rock fishing access is located one mile north of the cabin off the Old Boulder Road.

This home includes a lovely wood deck with a patio set which is perfect for enjoying the beautiful Montana sunrise and sunset over the Absaroka Mountains.

The “Fish Inn On The Boulder” will provide wildlife enthusiasts an opportunity to watch the local wildlife and neo tropical birds. It is not unusual to see a variety of wildlife, which includes, Whitetail and Mule Deer, Antelope and birds of prey that are year round residence on the ranch.

This log cabin includes a full kitchen, full bathroom, two beds including one full and one queen bed, a relaxing sitting area, and a covered wood deck with a patio set. The fire ring located to the south of the cabin is available along with firewood to fuel the fire. We ask that you let us know, if you wish to have an evening campfire.

Cabin Rooms Description:

Kitchen:
Fully stocked kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave, pots and pans, dishes, silverware and coffee pot.

Dining Room:
Dining room includes wood table and chairs that can sit up to four.

Living Room:
Sitting area with two comfy lounge ottoman chairs, side table, and Bose Radio. Great for relaxing and French door access to the patio. A variety of books, magazines and games are available to you for your enjoyment.

Bathroom:
Newly constructed bathroom with a beautiful tiled shower.

Sleeping Area:
This beautiful log cabins can sleep up to 4 people with one double and one queen bed. The double bed is located in a separate bedroom and the queen bed is located in an open area by the kitchen and dining room area.

Deck Area:
Large covered deck area with a patio set to sit four and other chair and benches are available.

Area Description:
For those who are looking to fish the Boulder River, Big Rock Fishing access is located one mile north along the Old Boulder Road. The Big Rock Fishing access will give those fishermen access to the Boulder River. Additional access to the river are located near McLeod and within the National Forest Boundary.

The Boulder River was utilized in the setting for two of Robert Redford movies, “The River Runs Through It” and “The Horse Whisper”. These two classic movies, will give the viewer a sampling of what this area has to offer.

This spot is a great location for various Montana outdoor activities including fishing, hiking, floating, and wildlife site-seeing.

The Gallatin National Forest is located in close proximity of this location, with the Crazy Mountains to the northwest and the Absaroka Range to the south. Both mountain ranges provide opportunities for those persons wishing to enjoy a wilderness experience.

Hiking and Day Trips:
Available for guests will be a package of information, which will contain information for activities in the area and a Gallatin National Forest map.

National Forest access is located sixteen miles south, which will take you into the Main Boulder drainage. A county road provides public access to trailhead and developed campgrounds. Numerous disperses day use sites provide the public with a wide use of activities, from fishing, hiking and bird watching.

If you are looking for an amazing memorable day trip, this cabin is located around two hours away from the northern entrance to Yellowstone National Park.

Big Timber, MT:
The Fish Inn The Boulder is located in a gorgeous spot 15 minutes away from historic downtown Big Timber, Montana. Big Timber has a population of 1700. This historic western town was established in 1870, by the Great Northern Railway. Soon after, ranch families and homesteaders, began to move in.

In the 1970, a group of artist and musician relocated in Big Timber area and are responsible for the galleries and gift shops that can be found on McLoed Street.

The famous Grand Hotel located on the north part of Mcleod Street is well known for its dining cuisine.
