Newly renovated separate entrance guest suite. Generous monthly discount makes it good value for long-term guests. Suite includes a bedroom with queen bed, your own living area with TV, and luxury all marble private bath. Kitchen is just steps away, shared with the host.
Previous guests have commuted to the Capitol area, Cooley Law School or LCC via the #9 bus.

The space

This suite is located in the back of a quaint home, a separate addition to the original house. If you like to watch TV, there is a 55" flat screen with DVD player, AT&T Uverse cable, and a nice sound bar/sub woofer sound system. The bedroom is small but with the private living area adjacent you will not feel cramped. There is a closet with hanging storage and shelving, as well as a dresser. The bathroom is gorgeous with all new custom marble flooring and shower stall. Again it's a bit small but very functional and beautiful. The bathroom door is a neat design feature. It's a barn door that slides on the outside of the wall, using a salvaged door from a demolished Detroit mansion.
AT&T Digital Life security system with window and door alarms, motion detectors.
Street parking is safe and plentiful.

Guest access

Guests will have access to the host's entire main floor. You may use the kitchen to prepare meals or have your morning coffee. The dining room table is a good place to spread out if you need to work on a project. The living room has a grand piano if you play. The front porch is a lovely, old-school urban front porch, sit out and enjoy the neighborhood. Smoking is allowed on the front porch. The rear deck overlooks the backyard and is also yours to hang out on. Smoking in rear deck area OK.

Interaction with guests

Guests generally keep to themselves and I respect that. We will be sharing the house on a limited basis, for instance the kitchen and dining room, and I will need to come through your lounge to let the dogs out. I enjoy talking to my guests if they are amenable. If you need a ride to/from the Amtrak station or the LAN airport, ask me, I can usually do it if I'm around.

Other things to note

Host will occasionally come through your living area to let dogs out into the backyard.

The house is in a safe and quiet neighborhood. The room was very nice, it felt a lot like living in a hotel room. The room itself is very clean and comfortable. The bed has more than enough room for 2 people and is very comfortable. The decorations are very well thought out and tasteful and made me feel like I was living in some exotic resort. Also you will have access to the private lounge right outside the room which has plenty of space for relaxing. Kurt was very nice and respectful and made me feel welcomed and comfortable. Overall it was a great experience and I was very satisfied staying here!

The nicest people we have met. So welcoming and giving. The place to stay at is amazing with a living area with tv and a porch right outside of the room. You wont find another amazing place with that much kindness!

This was our first time staying at an Airbnb and we couldn't have been more satisfied with our stay!We moved our freshman into her dorm at MSU and Kurt's place was just a short drive away. His listing was very detailed and accurate. Kurt's place was very nice, well decorated, clean and comfortable. His neighborhood was nice and quiet. We had cool nights while we were there and were able to keep the bedroom windows open with no disturbances. Loved the craftsmanship of his 1920's built home. The updated bathroom was perfect for the two of us. The living room was very comfortable with great entertainment choices. The bed was very comfortable especially with the ceiling fan above. Again, we really enjoyed our first experience and would highly recommend Kurt and his place!

Wonderful home in nice area of Lansing. Kurt was an outstanding host, and we enjoyed his little dogs Leo and Raisin. Nice cozy bed, tiny room but very comfy! Would highly recommend!

Kurt's home is nice and clean, and was conveniently located near downtown Lansing. The value for what we paid was very good.
