You must do this!! Don't go to a cabin or a hotel. You get the very best of Yosemite this way. We are a family of 6 with 4 teenagers and this was just perfect. We picked up the gear and found a spot in the backpackers camp then set off the next morning. There were no wilderness permits left for the hike Chad suggested so instead we did the loop to Yosemite falls and around to Snow Creek and Mirror lake. It's quite hard work with backpacks going up to the falls in the heat but totally worth it and doable. The rest of the hike was completely beautiful and we camped overnight in the forest near a creek. You will never have that experience if you stay down in the valley. Chad was responsive and helpful and had lots of advice and although we had never been to Yosemite we had no trouble working it out with his help. It was a truly fantastic magical few days

This was a fantastic experience. Chad was very helpful and replied to all my questions, the equipment was clean and well cared for, and his directions were spot on. I did this hike over Labor Day and still saw no one until the very end. It was absolutely beautiful. The road up to Glacier Point was closed due to fires, so I had to hike up the Four Mile Trail to get to Glacier Point and the trailhead for Pohono. Great way to tack on some extra miles but was strenuous. Nothing but switch backs practically. Chad also provides videos to show you how to work all the equipment, so if you're like me and haven't really done this sort of thing before, it's no problem. If you're thinking about doing this I'd say go for it!

Chad's help and knowledge of the area was amazing. The camp crate was perfect for the trail! It was my first backpacking trip and also my first time in Yosemite. It was an amazing experience and I'll never forget It!

Chad was a great host, always trying to help us with our many doubts. The gear was brand new and perfect to stay in the wilderness. I just have positive words for him and the Yosemite experience.

I'm so glad we took this trip and used Chad's service - I don't think we ever would have backpacked in the wilderness otherwise, and now we're hooked! He made everything very easy, was incredibly responsive to our multiple questions and came up with alternative options for us as we decided to hike on Yosemite's busiest weekend - 4th of July. The gear provided is top notch, exactly what you'll need, and as long as you are a little bit flexible (open to hitch hiking, for example) you'll have a blast!

I am an avid camper and adventurist living in Yosemite National Park. My free time is spent wandering through wilderness, rock climbing Yosemite's world-class granite, and road tripping to all the amazing locations in the Sierras. I love to help guests make the best of the pa…
