We really tried to make our space feel cozy and comfortable! Lots of apartments in China feel sterile and impersonal, but we tried to our best to make it feel soft and welcoming by bringing in lots of plants from outside and artwork from my hometown.

We're the first tenants to live in this apartment, so when we moved in last fall, everything was brand-new, and things are still in great condition, including its wooden floor, which is rare for apartments in China, and hot water heater.

The space

We live on the 27th floor, which means you've got a nice view of the Western part of the city. There are schools all around the neighborhood, so lots of kids run around the streets outside.

Guest access

Feel free to use our kitchen for all the cooking you want, to read any books on the bookshelf, use the washing machine, or to take as long of showers as you please.

Interaction with guests

This is very important: we'll be gone July 7th to July 31st, so we're looking for someone to stay here most of the summer. This person can expect to be in the very heart of the city (near Green Lake/Yunnan University) in a cozy, comfortable apartment that meets and exceeds the standard of its Western occupants, while its location also provides very convenient access to the rest of Kunming/Yunnan province. We'll be in the US during this time, so you'll be relatively on your own, though we'd be happy to provide recommendations for places to visit/things to see while here in Kunming.

Importantly, the price listings aren't letting us set the price we want. We're charging a flat 2500 yuan for a person to stay here between these dates (July 7th to August 31st), so don't pay attention to the 68yuan/night on the booking page. It doesn't allow flexibility to go cheaper than that. It's a phenomenally good deal, but please, only message me if you're willing to stay to commit to those dates. We won't be in the country and can't deal with hosting multiple times.

Other things to note

Ideally, one to two people would stay here. Any more than that and it might be a tad crowded, though two could conceivably sleep in the bed and one on the couch.
