Beautiful duplex bungalow in the heart of Echo Park with lovingly cared for garden, porch and patio. This one bedroom and dining room is one block from Sunset blvd in the midst of everything you could possibly ask for in Echo Park. Morning light brightens up the entire home and garden. Tucked away into a complex of bungalows, you'll forget you're in the middle of an exciting and vibrant neighborhood. This home is lgbtq friendly and does not discriminate on race or background.

The space

Hello and welcome to my oasis! One bedroom, dining room, living room, full bath, kitchen with full appliances, laundry (!), porch, patio, garden, beautifully decorated, and walking distance (one block) from the town of echo park. Cafes, an abundance of restaurants, music venues, grocery store, pharmacy, multiple taco trucks, the park with daily paddle boat rides around the lake, and day and night activities are within a five minute walk. A ten minute drive to downtown or a two minute drive (literally) into Silverlake, there really isn't a better and more accessible part of town. Help yourself to vegetables from the garden or pick yourself a bouquet of flowers. Add a variety of herbs from the garden to your home cooked meals and enjoy your food and drink while resting in the shade in the garden. Wooden floors, artwork on the walls, and plenty of care all contribute to a relaxing visit. I'm an artist and I am happy to leave a list of all the major galleries and art exhibitions around town.

Stayed there for a week. Cute cozy comfortable place. The portable AC unit in the bedroom was much appreciated in the 100 degree plus temperatures. Mimi was an excellent host , checked us in & checked us out. No hassles. Contacted us several times to see if we needed any thing! Restaurants & grocery stores walking distance close by. Thanks for the wine & tea leaves. Will definitely stay there again!

Mimi is very nice and was very kind when she greeted us. She even bought us some wine and cherries when we moved in. However, the space was sufficiently cleaned before we got there. It was very dusty and clearly not cleaned prior to our arrival. We had to buy cleaning supplies and spend the day doing it. Not how we planned to spend our first day there. The space is great, nice kitchen, big bathroom great dining and living areas. Bed a bit uncomfortable. Not tons of privacy, neighbours everywhere. We had an issue with some things that broke while we stayed there. I don't know how this is being resolved. I understand that our host is trying to deal with is as pleasantly as possible and feels it is my responsibility but I do not agree 100%. If I am to pay for some damages, she should pay me to clean the space. I got a parking ticket for not being attentive to that in the am. Not her fault but kind of a pain to deal with street parking.

We absolutely loved Mimi's home! Super comfortable and we had everything we could have needed! Great location. We especially loved the porch and beautiful garden! This is definitely my family's new LA spot!

Mimi's place is a cozy and charming little oasis perfectly located between Echo Park and Silver Lake. Mimi was an excellent host as well - communicative without being intrusive, helpful, kind and flexible. We had a lovely stay and would stay again!

I'm an artist in Los Angeles. I exhibit internationally in galleries and museums and I sometimes take positions in various universities as a visiting professor in painting and drawing. I have family around the US and France and I travel often for art and to visit them. I am very close with my family, I love traveling, and everything related to art and gardens. In Los Angeles I live in a small bungalow with a beautiful little garden that I care for. I drive ten minutes everyday to my studio where I draw every day. I love Los Angeles for her diversity, sunshine, and open space that allows me to think freely and quietly.
