The space

Miles Smith Farm was founded in the 1830's by Miles Smith who, with his wife and daughters, are buried in the farm cemetery. Our Scottish Highlander cattle are so tame we ride them. You can too! And we have a special pig, Charlotte, who will entertain you and your family by rolling over to have her belly scratched. And Angus, our lop eared rabbit, or Tazzy, our house pig, will gladly spend time with you in the apartment. A full kitchen with dishwasher is included. Our Solar Farm Store is located on the farm (next to the barn) for some fantastic grass fed beef, pastured pork and lamb and many other locally produced items. We don't sell alcohol, so bring your own wine or beer. The downstairs bathroom has a champagne tub and shower, while the upstairs bath is a private bath with shower, off the master bedroom. The apartment is private from the main house. We have miles and miles of trails for snow shoeing in the winter and hiking in the summer. If you want to snow shoe let us know. We'll rent you some gear. We have one TV with a a VCR player. We have a selection of children's VCR tapes. A small charcoal grill is available for rent ($10 one time fee), complete with charcoal. Let us know if you would like to use it while you stay.

We loved our stay - the farmhouse had everything we needed. It was larger than I expected and very clean. The notices/signs were useful too. It was great being able to walk around and see the animals as well as appreciate the beautiful scenery. We also fell in love with Tazzy (the mini pig) who came over for a visit. Carole is a great host and we would definitely like to visit again. I would recommend bringing bug spray, as I did get bitten - but that is to be expected on a working farm!

Carole was a very warm and friendly host and the accommodation was spacious and very comfortable. The wood-burning stove was lit when we arrived which was very welcome and made the whole ground floor very cozy. The beds were really comfortable and the jacuzzi was thoroughly enjoyed by my daughter. Being able to commune with such a variety of animals on a working farm was very special, but special mention must be reserved for Taz, the pet pig, who was a complete, if eccentric, delight.

It's impossible to say enough good things about Miles Smith farm, Carole, and the rest of the crew there! This was my second stay, mainly because I had such a good time the first time, and once again it was a fantastic experience. You can admire the amazing hilltop vistas while the sun sets, cook delicious fresh food from the farm store (steaks, chops, lamb, eggs, fruit, veggies, fresh dairy and more), relax by the wood stove and/or in the hot tub, wander around the fields and forests of the farm, and meet all the friendly animals, including a friendly bunny and a pig who will come and hang out by the fire with you. It's honestly a dream come true!

My husband and I stayed for three nights and had a great time. The host, Carol, and all of the workers on the farm were very friendly and welcoming. It was fun to have the animals around and interact with them (I did ride one of the cows!). The apartment was spacious and would be plenty big enough for a family. The farm store being right across the driveway was a plus, too!

We had a wonderful weekend getaway at Miles Smith Farm. It was special to have the farm essentially to ourselves, with only the farmers around. Our 4 year old loved the experience and running free around the farm. There is a great little sandbox filled with trucks next to the garden, his favorite spot and has a beautiful view. The house pigs were also a hit. Wifi worked great, sheets and towels provided, kitchen had most things you need (granted we did not cook aside from delicious eggs we purchased at the farm). Would definitely return.

We stayed at Miles Smith Farm to attend the NASCAR race at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The location was great, being less than a 10 minute drive from the race track. The farm is lovely with a wide variety of animals in a beautiful setting. Accomodations were an apartment in an older farmhouse that had been updated with modern amenities including air conditioning and a Whirlpool tub. Would highly recommend staying at Miles Smith Farms. Great location for a family getaway into the countryside.

We really enjoyed the scenic mountain views and the farm animals, espcially the pigs. The farmhouse was really comfortable with all the amenities. Its really enjoyable to walk around the grounds and look at all the animals. The place was really peaceful and relaxing. A great getaway if you are visiting as a couple or a family.

Miles Smith Farm is a small family owned farm raising cattle, pigs and turkeys. In addition we have two horses, chickens and ducks. We have an on-farm store where customers can buy local products and our grass fed beef.
