Spacious rooms in a historic home. Comfy beds and great TV. Hosts unobtrusive but there when needed and responsive to any questions. Be aware that smell of pipe tobacco permeates every room. This should really be mentioned along with the fact that bedroom doors and many ceilings are extremely low. A 6 footer will hit his/her head on door frames. Otherwise, home is unique and a good place to stay in Winchendon.

Joanna was great! We showed up in the middle of a torrential downpour after 10 hours of driving and she got us in and made sure everything was in order. In the morning, there was continental breakfast, which was nice. We were only there long enough to shower/sleep, so I can not comment on the neighborhood or surrounding area.

Our stay was just right for what we needed - a friendly landing spot while in town for a family wedding. Joanna and Ottar were welcoming, kind and unobtrusive; their home was lovely and character-filled. Even though Joanna was leaving town, she left us handpicked blackberries and a light cold breakfast to help ourselves to at our leisure. It was a great start to the day.
