About this listing
Our "Bark and Breakfast" is in the heart of The Crescent City. It's a magical place where you can stay and enjoy everything New Orleans has to offer, and come home to your very own foster dog! If you fall in love, you can leave with a new best friend!
We offer a large guest room we are affectionately calling "The Scrunchy Suite" after our best friend and the inspiration for our whole idea. It is in the back of the house ensuring peace and privacy. With a king size bed that converts to two twins, it is perfect for a couple or two friends traveling together. We have spared no expense when it comes to luxurious bedding essentials, including pima cotton sheets and a washed linen duvet, you will sleep like a baby! You also have your own en-suite bathroom with everything you might need for your stay, including shampoo, towels and bathrobes! Plenty of dresser and closet space are yours as well to unpack and settle in comfortably.
For additional guests, please inquire about "Jimmy's Room" named after my Mom's Shih Tzu who is really a tiny furry angel!
You are welcome to enjoy our home, maybe watch a movie in the cozy living room or play some games. You can also use the kitchen to reheat some delicious New Orleans leftovers or store some culinary treasures in the fridge with your very own designated shelves. We invite you to a continental breakfast with us every morning to start your day off right.
Interaction with guests
I will be here to guide you through the colorful gumbo that is New Orleans, and I am happy to share insider info to help make your stay an enjoyable one. Of course you are welcome to interact with our resident dogs as well. Remember that at least one of our foster dogs will be available for adoption, so feel free to make friends and get to know one another while you enjoy the Big Easy! Occasionally you will have a colorful co-host or two if I have friends in town, but I guarantee they will enhance your experience here rather than detract from it, and will not affect your private area at all.
Other things to note
Our focus here at the "Bark and Breakfast" is helping our four legged friends find their furever home. We are striving to create a tranquil and serene space for our guests to relax after passing a good time in New Orleans and for our dogs to adjust to home life on their road to their new family. We appreciate your understanding that we are not a party house, and the safety and security of our dogs is our primary concern. We are working with some amazing partners to make the adoption process smooth and easy if you decide to make one of our dogs your new family member!

Learn about this field
As we mention in our Welcome Message, rescue dogs live here (and so do I!) so this is not a heavy duty party house. Of course we want you to enjoy all that New Orleans has to offer, just remember not to bring the party home. The comfort and safety of our rescue dogs is our main concern, that and outrageous hospitality of course!

I am a single 53 year old woman from Brooklyn, New York. I have traveled to 49 states, and many countries. Traveling and helping others are my passions, and I LOVE living in New Orleans.
I am a licensed travel agent with my own travel company, Clean Getaway Travel, and I love helping others fulfill their travel dreams. I am also a big animal lover. I have a small terrier named Scrunchy, who is the inspiration for the "Bark and Breakfast" and he loves sharing his home with his foster Brothers and Sisters.
I am so excited to be able to share my love of New Orleans with guests while offering them unparalleled hospitality and furry friends!
