Such a great house, very cosy, clean and modern. We were a group of 3 friends and it worked out perfectly. You need a car for this location but it's super quick to get about and close to some fab brunch/coffee spots. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or go back if we return to Portl…

This house was great. After checking in we decided to stay an extra two nights because we were so impressed with the place. A massive king bed upstairs and two queen beds down stairs, which meant that me and my travelling partner could get total privacy from one another at night…

We loved the location. Everything was very handy, the only negative for us was the need for a handrail on the stairwell and also in the shower. They were very quick to respond when we needed anything.

I felt this place was a bit misrepresented. There are no exterior images which would give you an idea that the owner is literally 4 steps out the backdoor staying in a guest home. The back yard is also in complete disarray. The home is so strong of Pet / Animal odor. The m…

Response from Mel:
Hello, Alicia. As we discussed during your stay, we encourage all guests to read the ads in totality, as we are quite thorough in our description. Portland law dictates that a homeowner must reside for at least 270 days at a property, so all legal pdx rentals have an onsite owner. This is mentioned in the Things To Know section of the ad. As we also discussed, we do not post the photos of the outside of a house as vacation rentals are the target of would-be-thieves, who can see the online photos, the only calendar, the approximate location, and—with front-facing photos—could easily figure out where you—or others—are staying. We take the security of our guests very seriously. Regarding pets, this is a pet-friendly home, as mentioned in the ad, and is priced as such. You rented an entire house for $119 a night during New Year’s eve. Not only did you ask for additional discounts from the get-go, but you threatened us upon arrival that you’d “leave us a bad review” if we didn’t discount it further. When asked if you’d like us to find you something else, you said no. As we discussed, Airbnb considers this extortion, and takes it very seriously. In the future please read all descriptions, look at all photos, check the amenities, and if it’s a low-budget home you’re requesting—especially during the biggest Holiday in the world—understand exactly what that means before officially reserving. Safe travels
