Quaint thatched cottage full of character set in the heart of small village. Light & airy, 'real electric fire' gives a cosy feel. Walking distance to village pub, 2 miles from market town of Sturminster Newton. Great walks and cycle routes. Close to Longleat, Monkey World, Jurassic coast, Air Fleet museum, fishing at Todber Manor. Close to market towns of Shaftesbury, Blandford, Sherborne. Stables available for horse enthusiast looking for hacking holiday.

The space
An amazing ancient cottage with loads of character. Comfortable sitting room. An electric fire with the feel of a real log fire. Wifi, free view tv. Dining table and chairs.

The cottage offers excellent self catering facilities with a well equipped kitchen.

Stairs leading to large bedroom and shower room (no bath) upstairs.

Guest access
The cottage and courtyard are for the guests sole use.
Access is to the right (west) side of the cottage, and there are four steps leading up to the front door.
There is a private parking area just before the cottage on the right, look for the sign.
There is a separate lock up bike space.
There is a front grass lawn (not shown in photos) which can be accessed via a gated path to the side of the house. The courtyard by the front door is secure for pets.

Other things to note
The cottage is very old and traditional.
There are stone steps leading to the house.
There is a narrow and quite steep staircase to the first floor.
The doorways are low, especially the doorway leading to the staircase.
There is dedicated offroad parking

Neighbourhood highlights

The village pub The White Horse is very close by, serving excellent food.

Also just 5 min drive to a range of great local pubs:-
The Bankhouse Brasserie or The White Hart pub. These are 5 mins away in town. The Brasserie is really lovely, the pub is very much a pub but does really good food.

The Fiddleford Inn is really lovely especially if you want to walk or cycle. You can join the Trailway in Sturminster Newton and walk/cycle to the Fiddleford, it is not far, half an hour walk from the end of the trailway and it is super friendly.

We are close to Monkey World, Longleat, the Jurassic Coast and the market towns of Shaftesbury, Blandford, Sturminster Newton and Sherborne. There is fishing on the river Stour and at the lakes at Todber.

We are in the heart of the Blackmore Vale with incredible rural walks and bike rides straight from the front door.

We are also close to the facility of an Olympic horse rider and tours are available on request must be prebooked. Stables available for horse owners looking to take a break with their four legged friends! Great riding all around.

Access to the river Stour for wild swimming (Any swimming at own risk)
