We stayed at the Waterfront Paradise on Moodie Cove Road from Septemb(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). The area where the cottage is located is wonderful. It's not far from Dartmouth, you can travel into Pictou quickly and is just 15 minutes away from the beautiful Melmerby Beach. The property the cottage is located on overlooks the water and is a beautiful piece of property with mature trees surrounding it. We saw squirrels and even had the pleasure of watching a deer nibble in the woods. The owners provide you with outdoor games, paddle boat, and canoe and even firewood. It's a great spot for a nice fire. The front of the cottage has a covered porch which is perfect when the weather is not so great. The BBQ is located in this area so you can cook without getting wet. The water side of the cottage has a screened in room that looks out to the water. There is also a beautiful patio on the water side. The inside of the cottage is rustic but clean. The cottage is fully stocked with everything you could need including some food staples. Just bring yourself, your clothes and some food and you're good to go. The owners are very good at communicating with you even though they are presently very far away. We will definitely be going back to Corry & Vera's cottage ... but next time it will be for a longer period of time. Thank you for opening up your beautiful cottage for others to enjoy.

We just loved this sweet cottage by the sea. The grounds and view are gorgeous, and the house has a great layout with a good 'soul' vibe to it. We were a party of five representing a broad range of ages (grandkid, parents and grandparents), and everyone had a fantastic experience. The hosts provide a very helpful and detailed overview prior to arriving that is spot-on. Their next door neighbor, Kathy, who helps manage it (the hosts live overseas) is very helpful when needed. We chose the location because of the beauty of the north shore but also because we wanted to do a few day-trips, and this home served as a great home-base. We were able to easily do day-trips to PEI (Ferry is just 15 mins away) and Cape Breton (about 2 hrs drive), as well as out west to Tatamagouche area (less than an hour). On the days we stayed near home, we enjoyed the very private beach just a short paddle away from the house (we took advantage of the paddle boat and canoe at the property). We have been to beaches all over the world, but this one was very special and most memorable - long stretch of fine sand with shallow, calm waters yet nobody in sight. If you are looking for a lake cabin vibe with expansive water views and easy access to some of the best that Nova Scotia has to offer, we would highly recommend Moodie Cove. Thanks, Corry and Vera, for a great stay!

Great place for a family stay! First, the house: nice and clean, fully stocked kitchen, great screened in porch, wonderful back deck and lawn space. I didn't know what to expect since there isn't really a beach at the property, but there is one across the little (URL HIDDEN) was actually very fun! They have a canoe and paddle boat and it takes about 3 minutes to get to the other side where it is like you have your very own private beach. I was worried about only having one bathroom given the size of our family, but it really wasn't a problem at all. Location: hour and half from Halifax airport, so it was very easy to get to for us. It was also about 25 min to PEI ferry so we actually took that across and stayed here for 2 nights as well. Good grocery store about 20 min away and a great fresh seafood market there as well. A couple of little towns to explore and restaraunts nearby Communication with host: super easy, very responsive and property manager lives just next door-very helpful and sweet. Helped with everything. And provided some good local recommendations! Check in and check out very easy and basic, didn't take any time at all Overall, I would highly recommend this cottage for your stay. The kids toys for both indoor and, outdoor really enhanced our stay since we had little ones. They even had great books to read for bedtime. We really didn't need to bring anything to entertain them, they even had bath toys, kiddie cups, bowls, sileverware, etc. Great trip! Thanks guys!
