A self-contained apartment within the historic Cefn Park Estate, on the edge of Wrexham in North Wales. The grounds include a tennis court, stabling and access onto paths that criss-cross the estate's 1000 acres. Within easy reach are historic Chester, Chester business park, Wrexham Industrial Estate, National Trust properties, beautiful coastal resorts and lovely countryside. A peaceful place to stay, ideal as a cosy, romantic getaway, a restful break or a calm retreat whilst working nearby.

The space
The Penthouse is a spacious and welcoming, third floor apartment which is accessed via a large stairwell, and has a sitting room with an open fire and an eat-in kitchen with dining for four. There are two double bedrooms offering stylish decor and feature fireplaces, along with views across the formal gardens to the countryside beyond. Guests have use of a private external games room with a full-size snooker table, along with a bar, comfy seating and a cosy woodburning stove. The Penthouse has central heating and a power shower over the bath. The kitchen is well equipped with a freestanding electric cooker and hob, a fridge freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle. It does not have a dishwasher but with so many places to eat nearby you will be out for supper every evening!
The Penthouse can be booked as a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom apartment depending on requirements.

Guest access
There is a snooker room and bar available for our guests as well as a Victorian kitchen to see! There are large grounds and plenty of countryside across the estate to enjoy with picnic tables set up. There is also a kitchen garden. Tennis is an option by prior appointment. We keep horses, sheep, Highland cattle and chickens.

Other things to note
Steeped in family history linking back to Charles II and containing many artefacts from the Charge of the Light Brigade, Cefn Park was featured on national TV and in newspapers in 2011 due to the restoration of the original Victorian kitchen that had last been used during the Second World War. Last year the Hairy Bikers cooked in the Victorian kitchen for an episode of their 'Chicken and Egg' series. The kitchen is available for guests to see.

From the Roman walls and amphitheatre, the wonderful Tudor ‘Rows’ and the beautiful medieval church, to the racecourse, famous zoo and walks along the River Dee and the recently opened StoryHouse theatre and cinema, Chester has it all. Cheshire Oaks designer retail outlet, Liverpool and Manchester are also not far for serious shopping!Back into Wales, the stunning Snowdonia National Park is within driving distance. An ideal location for exploring North Wales, Cheshire, Shropshire, and the island of Anglesey.
