If you can see this listing then it's for renting our whole house without us in it. (There's a cheaper option to stay when we are in it.)
Our home is dreamy, cozy, comfy for all who love bungalows. Woodwork and original built-ins, aided by nice furniture, art, lovely remodeled kitchen, and brand-new firm-but-plush Nest Bedding queen bed. The entire house is about 1700 square feet, bright, and well appointed, though it's hard to tell in my cell phone photos.
This home is ideally situated in Oakland near transit and amenities, and it is also bohemian-eclectic-cozy-clean.
The "cleanest" is in its mindfulness about product toxicity. We use unscented products or products that have light [natural] scent/no chemicals. All the paint is no-VOC paint.
The rooms are spacious, the home is spacious and bright, and lots of little owner amenities add convenience: dishwasher, disposal, laundry, parking, gorgeous renovation, lovely and unique furniture and art.
The top-down bottom-up blackout shades provide customizable privacy and light. I also do not think a more comfortable guest bed exists. I've slept on terrible Airbnb and hotel beds. Ours is dreamy.
If you're booking *this* listing you will have the house to yourself, and we will not be in it. However, we're not offering our separate master suite as part of the rental. In other words, you'll have the equivalent of a large 1/1 house and not a 2/2 house. We hope you'll water the plants.
Interaction with guests
I will be available by email, possibly text.
- Remove shoes at door
- Use provided products; we're too sensitive or allergic to most personal care products (we DO provide nice ones for you!)
- Kitchen is vegetarian
My fiance and I are enjoying a new (to us) 1917 home and would like to offer our spacious guest room (or occasionally whole home) to like-minded travelers (respectful, queer/trans/POC friendly, shoe/allergy free, Drumpf free).
As a traveler I am into tango dancing, cooking, eating, cocktailing, enjoying arts/performance, reading.... I quietly sneak in and out of your space, unless you'd like to socialize, and I may join you at your table.
We're both conscious/conscientious/thoughtful/communicative. Strictly nonsmoking in all spaces. We're vegetarian too.
I am a realtor by trade, so I'm accustomed to taking good care of other people's homes. I also have a three-year degree in feng shui, which I've used for consulting, and is one reason you may find my home warm and inviting.
