Martin's place was wonderful! It was my first time to Portland and I felt right at home. It is clean, quiet, and cozy. Martin is very kind and always answer's questions promptly, he offers such a great food. Will return here if I ever come back to Portland.

Comfortable room, good value, Martin was friendly and helpful. The Airbnb unit is quirky in that it was originally designed to be a nursery so lots of colourful paintings on the walls etc. Kitchen and communal space are a good size. Would happily have stayed longer if it fitted my travel plans. Only downside is it's a little far from a lot of locations you may want to visit in Portland. If you have a car this isn't a big deal but if you don't you may end up spending a lot of time on public transport or cabs!

Overall this is a good value place. Martin is very responsive in his communication. Be aware that there are 2 bedrooms and that you might have to share the place. I regretted that is a basement and there there was barely any daylight in the unit. You will feel like you are back in Kindergarden with the decor but it is spacious and has all the amenities plus breakfast goodies. I would go back.

This house is in a great location, if you have a car to get around Portland. It was about a 20 minute drive into downtown which was not bad. Neighborhood was quiet except for a dog that barked until 2am one night. Marvin was very helpful and had plenty of resources of what to do in the city. Full kitchen, bathroom, and living room were great amenities. While everything Marvin did was great, it seemed that it was not communicated to the other family staying there at the same time that there were other guests. We were woken up at 7am to loud tv noises and toys being thrown on the ground, as well as the family having loud conversations directly outside of our bedroom door. When we left our room they looked surprised to see us, so I don't think they knew we were there. Overall it was a very good experience save for that factor.

Response from Martin:
Although the complaints about the dog and the other family with children are legitimate, I would like to follow up on this feedback. The neighbor with the dog in question has been notified and assures me that he is working on alleviating the situation of his dog barking when he doesn't return home (either through a bark collar, or letting me know how I can help when he is away). In regards to the young family and their children, they were, in fact, informed of other guests in the adjacent room. However, beyond informing them, I can't necessarily control their actions nor those of their very young children, and on their behalf I would like to apologize for the fact you were awoken at such an early hour. In their defense, this was their first time as guests at an AirBnB, and perhaps they weren't aware of the expectations to try to keep their children (and tv) and a low volume. I don't anticipate any further problems in either of those regards, and I am sorry that you weren't able to get a sufficient amount of sleep. Thank you for staying with us, and still giving us 4 out of 5 stars!
