We’re a friendly B&B in Brockenhurst, perfect for a weekend getaway. Our rooms offer very comfortable accommodation in an Edwardian cottage originally built as part of Brockenhurst Gasworks.

As well as the main bedroom and ensuite shower room upstairs, we’ve set aside the downstairs front room for the exclusive use of you, our guests, as a breakfast and sitting room. This is a lovely room with breakfast table, armchairs and a log burning stove, which we hope will really make you feel special.

The space
We're letting only one upstairs bedroom, as we want to make our house a relaxed and private environment for just 2 guests at a time. There are however also two rooms downstairs, just for our guests, where there's plenty of space for a dining table and a couple of armchairs, together with a wood burning stove and TV.

We hope to make the breakfast a high point of your stay. Wherever possible we are sourcing local ingredients, and amongst other things you will definitely be offered unique pork sausages from Sway butchers, local honey, and home-made marmalade. We've got a variety of breakfast options including the traditional full English, and lighter choices with vegetarian/gluten free options.

Brockenhurst ("Badgers Wood") is set in the best open woodlands in Europe, and we are at the very centre of the New Forest National Park.

In Brockenhurst the New Forest is all around you; woodlands, heathlands, and grasslands with ponies, deer, cattle, sheep, even pigs.

The history of the area goes back 4000 years to the bronze age; there are burial mounds all around the village. But the event which changed this area the most was William the Conqueror's success at the Battle of Hastings in 1066, after which he created his famous New Forest hunting grounds.

Today, Brockenhurst has a thriving village feel as people are attracted here by the 1950's retro looks and its peaceful mood, which together with the open forest access and outdoor attractions make it perfect for anyone looking to get away from it all.

All of this makes Brockenhurst so much more than just a beautiful village, it has a deep-rooted relaxed feel and a calm understated character.

Retired at last, and now that the kids have left home we're setting up a Bed & Breakfast as a new venture. With my wife, Maggie, we both look forward to welcoming guests to this lovely part of the country.
