Hear the waves when you step outside! Our gorgeous apartment features two huge bedrooms and a sunroom all with queen beds. Our lounge room is large and comfortable. The kitchen is brand new. Beach is a 2 minute walk. Take a 500m stroll to Jetty Rd where you have access to the tram, shops and cafes.

The space
We just love where it is! Every time we walk through the walkway to the beach it looks and feels different. You can't help taking a walk along the beach.

You have the whole apartment to yourself, as we live in the country. We have a key safe so you can let yourself in no matter what time you arrive.

The ground floor apartment itself is a lovely surprise, Artdeco on the outside with old world charm on the inside. We have just installed a new kitchen, spoiling ourselves with lovely Miele appliances. We are really pleased with the exposed slate we revealed during the renovation. The lounge is a lovely romantic room with a cosy old fashioned gas fire and the smart TV mounted above the fire place. We have added an extra couch now in case you have a group staying or friends or family visiting.

The bedrooms are very spacious with queen size beds and plenty of room for the suitcases. We added a lovely ensuite to the main bedroom. It has a heated floor and a double shower.

The original bathroom is retro, but we love it. We have just resurfaced the old bath and the radox and bubble bath are there ready for you to indulge yourself.

The sunroom is north facing and is a lovely place to read the paper and check emails.

The modern kitchen has a fridge, microwave, dishwasher, gas cook top and electric oven. It is well equipped with cooking utensils and the basics like oils, butter, sauce and spices. We leave the cupboards well equipped for you to use.

If you are travelling with small children let us know. We can make special arrangements for you, as we have a cot, high chair and some toys.

Families with teenagers have stayed many times, especially for sport, so we have added a daybed to the sun room. This opens up to a queen size bed. It has single mattresses and linen for when the kids definitely don't want to share a bed, so you can shift the mattress into another room. The kids also love the smart TV to log in and watch their favourite shows on catch up TV. We leave lots of big cushions you can really laze around in the sunroom and lounge room. Please note if the sunroom is used as the third bedroom, space for the suitcases is limited but there is ample room elsewhere.

You may note that there is no air conditioning. The building was built in 1881, and has walls that are extremely thick. We (and guests) find it's not necessary. We use fans, which are in each room. Also we recommend opening the back and front doors and lock the screen doors and allow the sea breeze to waft through.

Where you’ll be

Glenelg, South Australia, Australia

We love the cafes. Heading south along the beach you will find The Broadway café which is great for brekkie or lunch while you watch the waves. When the weather is wild head back into the suburb to the south and check out The Broadway where there are supermarkets, cafes and pubs. The Mediterranean is our favourite place for a pizza. Of course Jetty Road is a fabulous walk if you want to shop or dine. Europa and Swedish Tarts are our two favourite brekkie places there. Bracegirdles is good for a chocolate fix. A little further north you will find a multitude of restaurants at Holdfast Shores.

Have always loved the beach and we finally bought my dream house! We split our time between country South Australia and Glenelg and would love to share our great location with visitors to Adelaide! We are keen travellers and have really enjoyed staying in unique places rather than hotels. I am a keen sailboarder and we love riding bikes so Glenelg is perfect for us.
