All about Peggy’s place

Located on an historic farm near Hudson's Bay Wetland, Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park (formerly Ft. George Park) and Queensway Community Garden, the cabin is located on a working farm with sheep and chickens, gardens and greenhouses. Minutes from downtown Prince George, this former farmhand's cabin has been newly outfitted for guests.

The space
Small open-plan cabin has an updated washroom with shower, sink and toilet. Towels, shampoo and soaps provided, as well as a first aid kit under the sink. The kitchen has pots and pans, a kettle, tea pot and a french press, a rice-cooker, microwave, dishes, cutlery, spices, and a few other essentials.

The beds have new bedding and bedding for the fold out is located in the antique wardrobe (please be gentle with it). Beautiful vintage furnishings can be found throughout, and the main bedroom has plenty of pillows and an alarm clock.

Wifi is available, but if you are using our network, you are agreeing to use it only for legal purposes and not for illegal activities.

Rancher-style construction is very accessible with just a couple of steps leading up to the front and back porch. Private parking is right next to the cabin with room for boats, trailers, etc. A fenced pasture is right behind the house if your horses are travelling with you (feed not provided). There is a fenced dog kennel behind the house, for any animals travelling with you. Of course, service animals are always welcome in the cabin.

My parents live in the main farmhouse, and many local groups make use of the community garden and pastures, so please be respectful of their adjoining spaces. In season, the front of the house is draped in lilac blooms.

Prince George, British Columbia, Canada

A small sign marks the turn off of Queensway and you are instantly on a country road leading past the Community Garden. Directly behind the garden is a gate leading up to the cabin on the left of the main farmhouse.

The wetland trails start minutes from the cabin, leading across the city, or you can cross the street and you're a few short blocks from Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park (formerly Ft. George Park), the Exploration Place Museum & Science Centre, and Paddlewheel Park (built in honor of the upper Fraser River sternwheelers that landed there from 1909 until 1921), in South Fort George.
