A bright and comfortable Craftsman Bungalow style house on a corner lot offers a great opportunity to visitors. Situated within 2 blocks of Stanford University, 2 miles from the Stanford Medical Center and within 1/2 mile of the train station and a myriad of restaurants, coffee shops, bagel shop, grocery stores, and a running store. The Stanford Dish is 1 mile away offering a loop trail in the foothills to either run or walk. People from all backgrounds are welcome in our home.
Guests will have full access to our home and yard. We have a private shaded deck with 4 Adirondack chairs plus a table and chairs perfect for outdoor dining. The yard is well-maintained with sprinklers. A washer and dryer are available for use in the quarter basement below the kitchen area. The stairs are steep and the head room in the basement is about 6 feet. Heating in the winter is forced air and we have 4 ceiling fans for use in the summer months, one in each of the bedrooms plus two in the living room area. The drinking water in Palo Alto is fresh from the Sierra Nevada Hetch-Hetchy reservoir and perhaps the cleanest in the state.
We have 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a double bed. Closet and dressers are available in both. The kitchen is fully-stocked with dishes, pots and pans, coffee maker, toaster, oven, gas stove, microwave, refrigerator, disposal and dishwasher.
The living room area includes a large-screen TV. The fireplace is non-operational but presents a warm atmosphere in the space.
The house has many windows throughout bringing into view the surrounding redwood and maple trees in the yard.
Interaction with guests
We will be away for your entire stay however our son lives nearby and will be available to assist with the key hand-off and answering any questions about the house or local area that you might have.
- Palo Alto observes a quiet time period from 10pm to 8am everyday. We ask that you observe this and treat our home with respect and care as if it were your own.
