The space

Historic 1900 Victorian Home walking distance to downtown Spearfish.
There are 6 bedrooms in this home. 2 of the rooms have private baths (The Royal Room and the Loft Suite); 4 of the rooms (Blues Room, Trundle Room, Paris Room and Rose Room) share a bath. The common areas include the living room, the breakfast room, and the outdoor porch areas. This property has an option of booking rooms individually as well. Please clean up after yourself in the bathroom and kitchen i.e. wash your dishes and tidy up after using kitchen and dining areas. The kitchen will have coffee, salt, pepper and sugar (just the basics), but no other condiments are stocked in the fridge. This property is a clean, cozy and comfortable home to enjoy after a full day exploring Spearfish or other nearby Black Hills attractions. It's a very unique space and I'm sure you will love it as much as I do.

Guest access

Guests may access the entire home, except the basement area. There is a full time tenant who lives in the basement apartment, so please be respectful of her privacy. There are 6 bedrooms--- 1 bedroom on the main floor has a king bed with private bath; 4 bedrooms on the second floor have queen beds (one of the bedrooms has a queen bed along with a trundle bed). The 4 bedrooms on the second floor share a nice large bathroom; and there are 2 queen beds in the attic loft with a private bath- the beds in the loft are separated by glass french doors.
Please do not use the dishwasher or garbage compactor in the kitchen.

Interaction with guests

I can usually be reached by telephone or text most times of the day. In addition, I have the tenant who lives in the pink carriage house next door assist me when I am not available.

Other things to note

There are not any TV’s on the property.... so go out and enjoy the Black Hills!! After a day of exploring, you can relax on the front wrap around porch, the back covered deck, or the gazebo off the back porch. The property is decorated with antiques and other unique furnishings and decor – please be careful-- enjoy the space without breaking anything. Quiet time at 10 p.m.. Be respectful of the neighbors and the downstairs tenant and keep noise to a minimum.

There are bath towels, hand towels, and wash cloths provided in each room. These towels are for you to use rather than using the “decorative” towels in the bathrooms. For conservation purposes, please make your towels last for your entire stay (you can use your towels more than once if you hang them to dry after use).

Elizabeth has a lovely, historic home within walking distance of all of downtown Spearfish. The back porch has been enclosed and has a huge dining room table. This was especially helpful for our reunion gathering. Cheryl, who lives next door, took great care of us - letting me in and showing me the home, but especially loaning us a bar b que, and even bringing us a pasta salad, when we wanted to make steaks one night. Our only real issue was the box elder bugs which seemed to be everywhere. Perhaps this is a seasonal problem.
