The space

Most guest describe arriving at the Cottage as "beyond what they imagined". This quaint looking cottage tantalizes the eyes as the space rambles with amazing wood, iron, and warmth; from the entryway where a Texas Longhorn welcomes you hanging above the entryway Mantle, to the 18' Main Wood fireplace mantle with Barney the "Moose". The space will not disappoint, but does not take away from the feeling you are embedded into your own wilderness.

This was our second time at Carl's (which should tell you how great a place it is). Quiet, relaxing and perfectly quaint without giving up comfort and space. And Carl is probably the best host out there :)

Beautiful place in a perfect winter wonderland location. There is a nice hill walk just up the road, but all other hikes are drive-in. The place is much larger than it looks in the photos. We loved our week-long stay here!

The pictures of this place do not do it justice. With every step I took into the Cabin, I was pleasantly surprised and wowed. It has so much room and my large group of 8 had more than enough room to sleep. The kitchen waa gorgeous. The bathrooms were gorgeous. The bedrooms were gorgeous, beautiful views of the sky and stars. I woke up to the moon shining in the top window and it was just perfect. There was no dust or dirt that you get with other cabins. And the location was so peaceful and quiet. You can rent boats close by and the save on foods is about half an hour away. This cabin kitchen has everything you would possibly need. My only suggestion is to bring your own drinking water because the tap water is from a well. I would 100 percent stay here again and make it a yearly thing. My family is already looking into getting more vacation time for the summer to come back. Thank you so much for sharing this place with me. I had an amazing time.

This place was absolutely phenomenal. My friends and I were astounded by the atmosphere of this cabin and could not get enough of its little details. Everything was made so easy and we more than enjoyed this place. We will definitely plan trips in the future with our families for as long as Carl offers this wonderful place.

We only had one night at Stunning Cottage at Canim Lake and when we arrived we immediately wished for more. It is an extremely well fitted out cottage, well designed and situated on the edge of Canim Lake, the sort of place you could chill out for a week. Owner, Carl Meadows was extremely helpful and waived the two night minimum to help out four Aussies travelling between Jasper and Whistler. We all rated this cottage as a highlight of our four week trip to Alaska and western Canada.

We loved our stay at Canim Lake. The cottage is a beautiful home with a lovely atmosphere. It is also super spacious, super clean and super comfortable. I stayed here with my mum, my adult sister and my partner and we all had a great time. We enjoyed the great kitchen, the cozy fireplace, the comfy beds and of course the lake. We swam (even though it was still a bit chilly) and rented a peddleboat from the very friendly neighbours at Reynolds Resorts. We enjoyed it all so much that we wanted to stay another night. Although Carl was on holiday himself when we were at his cottage, we still managed to get a hold of him and secure the booking of the extra night. Thank you Carl!

Hi Hanna, You were such a lovely guest. Thanks for the note. The oven latch was touched by someone and it put the oven in "self clean mode" so we have added that part to the instruction manual for future guests. It could have been touched by our cleaning lady. The switch in the bathroom was fixed by Bill (owner of the resort). We are very appreciative of your review. Thanks so much Hanna.
