The Glass House is the end wing of Knockburn Farmhouse, (formerly the hay loft and storage barn) -which is a working farm - so there are people around the grounds going about their daily farm business of looking after the animals. There are dogs, cats, sheep, horses and hens at Knockburn Farm and the owners are helpful and on hand - if you require anything during your stay!!. Only the hens are free range - all other animals are all in designated areas. We are situated on the Sir Isacc Tea trail, in an area designated as being of outstanding natural beauty and surrounded by streams, rivers and waterfalls, open fields, The Dales and woods.
Approx 3 miles to Allendale supermarket, chemist, tourist office, post office, hairdressers, beauty salon, art galleries, 3 pubs, 2 tea rooms , Indian take away and Restaurants. Only 5 minutes drive from the local village pubs, cafes and shop and 25 mins from the historic market town of Hexham with the picturesque and tourist town of Corbridge 2 miles beyond.
