Stay in an historic flat in the very heart of Edinburgh right on Calton Hill! Great view, Princes Street 3 minute walk. Charming "farm" style kitchen, very comfy sitting room. Sleeps up to 7 in 3+ bedrooms. Owner runs travel company and frequently abroad. Agents speak English, German, Czech

The space

Location location location! This is a charming historic flat built in 1770 (we still have the original title deed!), but it's main feature is how close you are to everything! Just a 5 minute walk to either the Princes Street shops or the Calton Hill views.
The flat sleeps 7 across 4 rooms (2 x double beds, 1 room with 2 single beds & sofa, box room with bed). There is just one bathroom so you need to manage a bit!

There is free WiFi (and we provide a cable for wired ethernet). You have a complete kitchen with all the usual utensils and kitchenware. There is a lovely small private garden in the front. Washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, TV digital box and DVD player.

Interaction with guests

You will be met by our agent at the flat at a mutually agreed time for key handover and briefing. He will be available on phone for any issues. There is no cleaning service during your stay unless you request and pay agent.

This flat is still used periodically by the owners, so please respect it as a home. There are many period or just unusual features, please treat with the care a 250 year old flat deserves! Especially don't: disturb the neighbours (particularly downstairs, as the floors are pretty sound-conductive!), litter, or smoke indoors. If you break or damage anything, please inform the agent - unless substantial we rarely charge for small breakages such as glasses, but we need to know in order to restock for the next guest.

Gordon's house is ideally located for pretty much everything in Edinburgh, you couldn't want for a better location. The house is quirky but in a great way. The agent, Uwe, was very helpful and contacted us prior to our arrival to check there were no problems. We would definitely stay here again on any subsequent trips to Edinburgh.

This place was exactly what it advertised as and more! We were warmly and timely greeted at the door for the handover, and everything was very clean and tidy. It's great in terms of location and it's just a 5-10 minute walk from Waverley train station. It's a quirky flat (I really liked the kitchen in particular) and perfect for a nice stay in Edinburgh. I heartily recommend staying here and would definitely book again for another trip to this lovely city.

We are 3 lively 60 year old "ladies" who had a wonderful stay in this incredibly spacious flat right in the middle of this beautiful city.The situation was fantastic and really quiet despite being so central.We could walk everywhere, the area is very safe and the photos and description of the flat are very accurate. It was great!! Thank you, we will tell all out friends, a real gem.
