Carola's place was as pictured and clean. She and her family were very nice in accommodating and giving us recommendations. Instructions were very clear and the space was very easy to use. We spend the weekend doing the winery tours and discovering the hidden gems of the region. We had a brunch at the Drake Devonshire Inn. The restaurant overlooks Lake Ontario and the food was outstanding, not to mention the design of the place. Highly recommended. My expectations of the Sandbank Dunes were a little higher than experienced yet still nice. We discovered an excellent winery that open a later than all the wineries in the region. Karlo Estates' 9pm weekend close time makes it an excellent choice for a evening activity and great conversation. The design of the barn is excellent and gives excellent ambiance. Another excellent winery was Norman Hardy. Apart from the wine tastings, the Italian outdoor wood oven pizza's were outstanding. One last place that is not on any wine tour maps is The Old Third Vineyard & Winery. We just happened to be driving back and stopped us in our tracks. The modern fusion design incorporated in to and 150 year old barn was exquisite. We'll be back soon!

Wow. What a great find! Stylishly decorated and right on the river. It was wonderful to have my morning coffee (provided by Carola!) by the river every morning and watch turtles swimming in the river and geese flying overhead before heading out to Sandbanks (45 min drive). Everything was very thoughtfully organized and we felt very comfortable all weekend. Carola was very helpful in pointing out cool places to visit based on our interests and was an all around lovely host. It was truly a pleasure staying in her beautiful home. Would love to visit again. Thank you for hosting us! :)

Carola is wonderful in her skill with flowers and plants. Sturdy gorgeous vines grow all over the home. Being on the river's edge with the beauty of the water, plus the quiet and sunshine was amazing and yet this is only 10 minutes from down town Belleville!! So easy to get around as 3 minutes off the 401! Her home was very tidy and her rules clear! She is kind and caring and generous.

Hi Im Carola :)

Originally from Holland I relocated to Canada in 1980 to the beautiful Bay of Quinte region.

My European inspired home of 11 years is situate on the romantic and mystical Moira river, where I run my own salon and spa along with Dutch inspired wood sculptures that are on display at Crafts at Presqu'ile annually. To compliment my Salon I offer Acrylic painting classes and custom finery orders. As an independent Associate with USANA, a health and wellness company, my spa is equipped with cell rejuvenation nutritional supplements and health and wellness products.

When I'm not working I love to travel south and Europe. Weekends away, live music, or just enjoying going on the boat to relax, enjoy nature and fishing.

My love and reason for renovating was to up the value of my home for resale and the reason for Airbnb was because I'm in need of a new roof, but I soon realized that I enjoy sharing my home with couples that appreciate my hard work into my home and gardens with the view of the Moira River. Giving them a home away from home to come and relax and have a romantic stay, sitting on my deck by candle light or discover the beach, wineries, breweries, nature and arts....and soon snowmobile trails.

I have met some amazing couples and looking forward to sharing my home with many more. For now just for the weekends, but for longer stays in the future.

And I hope I can make your next stay a special one too!
Carola :)
