About this listing

This is a spacious and sunny recently renovated 1BD apartment. It is ideal for a couple or a small family. The couch folds out into 1 twin size bed. Juts a few blocks from Prospect Park and the BK botanical garden. 2 stops from Franklyn Ave. 20min from downtown Manhattan.

The space

This is a very sunny and spacious apartment. I have recently moved in, so I am in the process of making it a home, and furnishing it little by little. It is on the last floor ( 6th,with elevator) of a renovated building. My favorite things are the windows ( 6 windows! we call this MIRACLE in BK) and the hardwood floors.

Guest access

You will have wireless wifi.
I don't have a TV a microwave or a toaster
but I have a hair drier and a juicer and an awesome awesome Italian coffee stove pot.

We spent a week in Ester's appartment and had a great time. Ester is a perfect host! Unfortunately we didn't meet her but she was always available via cell phone and gave us helpful advices. The communication was easy. The appartment is really cozy, spacious and bright. We felt like home. The neighbourhood is nice and original. A lot of bars and restaurants are just two stops away. It takes about 20 minutes to Manhattan. We highly recommend this place and we would love to come back! Thank you, Ester!

Ester was the best host I ever had on Airbnb. My parents stayed with her and she made sure everything was taken care of even though she was away. She was very caring and attentive. I recommend staying with her!

Thank you Matthias!!!It was a pleasure to host you and your sister! I just wanted to specify for other people that might be reading the review: the apartment entrance is 15 meters from the subway..."15 m"...might look like 15 minutes walking :) .... it takes about three minutes to get from the kitchen to the train platform ! Hope to see you again soon on either side of the Atlantic! Au revoir!

Ester as person GREAT! She waited for me, even though my flight got delay a couple of hours. There was no AC in the apartment, if you have been to nyc during the summer you know it is crazy hot, small windows, so basically no air at all! It was a sauna. (It was cooler outside!!) The neighborhood! Well.. In a few words, i cone from one of the most dangerous cities in the world. Never felt as unsafe as i did here. Specially for a solo traveles (woman) i couldnt even take the subway back after 6pm. And of course dont even think of walking around the neighborhood. The shower was super dirty, not toilet paper, no laundry access (and they have one in the building!) worst week ever!

Response from Ester:
My listing states clearly that I do not have AC and that my guests have no access to the laundry. As for the neighborhood being unsafe ... I am really sorry you had this perception... There are people on the street at every hour of the day and night ...feeling unsafe after 6 pm while is still day out in the summer is frankly very strange and I can not understand what made you feel so unsafe.

Ester's place is very well located, literally right in front of the subway line 5 and 2 which head you direct to Manhattan. The appartment is clean, nice and bright. You can feel easily home. Ester is a perfect host, quick respond, good recommendations and great smile. I would definitely come back!

Esther's home is a very light and comfy place. The neighborhood is vibrant, with prospect park on walking distant and the subway just across the street. We especially loved the light coming through the big windows. Ester bought us some breakfast and explained about the neighborhood. She is a very pleasant host!

Ester's apartment was light and airy with beautiful natural light and breezes coming through the huge windows. It was very clean and accommodating - the perfect set up for a couple or single traveller. The online photos are a great and true representation of the apartment, which has just enough personal touches to make it feel homely, but not overwhelming. The bed was fabulously comfortable! Ester is a very helpful, communicative, welcoming and thoughtful host - with useful information shared in advance, quick responses to any queries, and a much appreciated light dinner supplied on arrival after a long-haul flight. As well as fruit and yoghurt for the morning. The neighbourhood is good and felt very safe for a solo traveller, with easy access to Manhattan via the 2 and 5 lines (approx. 30 mins to central Manhattan). The neighbours within the apartment block were also very friendly. The apartment is within two stops of some local gems in the Brooklyn Museum and Prospect Park. Local stores with good supplies, and a bank are handy, with a few restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. And the subway station is fabulously close (within about 30 metres of the apartment block).

Hi airbnb people! Thank you for checking out my apartment :)
I hail from Italy. Moved to Brooklyn six years ago and felt in love with it. I like cooking and reading. In my cupboards you will always find good olive oil and strong coffee. I keep drawing swirls and I write. I also brew my own Kombucha so you have the option of detoxifying during your stay in Brooklyn .....and I will be happy to give you a SCOBY as a souvenir.
