This home is a simple half duplex in the heart of Fort Macleod on your way to anywhere. It is conveniently located 1-2 blocks from a grocery store, liquor store, spray park and playground, skating arena, pool, and historic Main Street. While staying one building from the Fort museum, walking distance to the Old Man River, and 45 minutes from Waterton, your need for exploration can be quickly satisfied.

The space

This house is a renovated WWII bunker building that was moved from the Fort Macleod airport to where it currently sits. The living areas are a mostly open concept. The large living room has a door and a window into the kitchen/dining. The kitchen has open shelving for dry goods and fridge space available for your use. There is no microwave or toaster, but there is a toaster oven, coffee pot, crock pot, and more that you are free to use!
Each bedroom has a unique feel. They are small rooms, but the function very practically. The main bedroom has ample space for hanging and folding clothes in the closet. The secondary bedroom has beautiful wainscoting, new flooring, a shelf unit with games and space for your things, and a hanging rack for clothes.
In the kids' bedroom, there is a toddler bed, crib, and change table. The floor space has a car mat, blocks, large lego, stuffed animals, and other various toys.
The bathroom has towels, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, soap, hairdryer, and straightener available for your use.

Guest access

Guests can access every area of the house other than the basement (storage, heater, hot water tanks, etc.) and back porch/laundry room. The backyard is currently under construction and is strictly off limits for safety reasons. There is also an interior door to the other side of the duplex that will remain locked at all times.

Interaction with guests

I can be accessed by phone or text at any time. I will likely be out of the area, but I can provide a phone number for a friend who is in town to help with problems, or I will remotely tell you where anything is in the house. I may stop by to water/harvest my garden, mow the lawn, or work in the back yard, but I will tell you ahead of time.

Other things to note

We are building a garage and making a patio in our backyard so during the day there may be some construction noises, but all work should be done before 6 PM. Because of this, the backyard is strictly off limits and all parking must be on the road in front of the house.

House Rules
Check in is anytime after 1PM

Outdoor pets on leash are allowed if you will pick up after them.

Only smoke outside. Alert me ahead of time, and I will put a butt bucket out - please use it.

Don't go into the back porch or use the washing machine - it's finicky.

There is a steep stair to the basement storage room with a latch on top. Don't open it. It is a falling hazard and there is no reason to go down there. It is inaccessible from the outside so there is no fear of someone else entering through it.

The door between halves of the house has a deadbolt on both sides. The other tenant helps with hosting on occasion. She will not enter your side of the house unless you request for something to be done, and I am out of town.

This place is a good one if you would like to visit Waterton. This might not be a luxury one but considering the price, it is very clean, spacious, large washroom and has toys for the kids. I would definitely recommend anyone in future. Alicia was very helpful and caring.

This place is good value for the money. And a good choice if you're heading down to Waterton or the US. It's basic but spacious and well kept. Alicia, the host is very accommodating and really nice. Expect that a lot of their stuff may be left in the apartment (e.g. the fridge may be full of their food). But otherwise the beds were comfortable, the place was clean. It's not 5-star calibre but you will be comfortable.

My family and I were travelling to Waterton Lakes National Park, and because our campsite was first-come first-served, we needed a place to stay the night before so we could get there early the next morning and grab a good spot. Alicia's Airbnb ended up being a great choice. For me, the three things that make for a successful Airbnb stay are cleanliness, value and communication, and this one checked every box. Alicia's home was clean, organized and had everything we needed to be comfortable for the night and to prepare our breakfast in the kitchen the next morning. Next, at about 2x the price of a campsite it didn't cost us a bunch of money. Finally - and most importantly - communication with the host was absolutely excellent. She was quick to answer all of my questions, provided her cell number for texting, met us there when we arrived, showed us around the house, made sure we were comfortable with the space and answered all of our questions about the local area. She was helpful without being obtrusive and genuinely made us feel welcomed. Staying in Airbnbs can sometimes be awkward, but Alicia was so friendly and open that we had no worries at all. She also openly encouraged us to give her constructive feedback so she could make improvements for future renters. This is a new Airbnb listing, and it's obvious that Alicia is working really hard to make it a good one.

I'm a young wife and mom of 2 kids. I love coffee, travel, and meeting new people. Our family travels for my husband's job so we live in a motorhome all summer long and come home to do laundry. We love rock climbing, hiking, and games.
