Axel is a great host, I was able to get accommodations at the last minute for one night. Although I did not have an opportunity to meet Axel, he gave clear and concise instructions for me to find and get into the accommodations I booked. I loved the ability to arrive on my own time table without inconveniencing the host. The room had more amenities than I expected and very clean. It is a beautiful older building with a lot of space and character. It is very close to the downtown core so you can easily walk to restaurants and the beach. Next time I have to go to Penticton I look forward to being able to spend a few days.

Thanks to Axle we had a great day in Penticton! Great location, nice house! Our bedroom was very comfy with small kitchen. Shared bathroom was clean and always empty. Different entrance to the house made our stay private. We would definitely recommend this accomodation!

Axle was a great host. Enjoyed staying at his place. Only hitch was other guests Friday being noisy and showing no respect for fellow guests. Axle did follow up and put notices up with the quiet time rules.

Axle's place was overall a 5/5. The pictures accurately showed the condition of the place (including the kitchen and bathroom). It was incredibly central, just a ten-minute walk away from most of the major attractions and for the price it could not be beat. The place is fairly old (fairly noisy floors and doors) but the room was equipped with a great A/C unit which kept the room nice and cool. I hope to be back in Penticton in the future and would definitely request to stay here again. Thanks!

It really depends what you are looking for. Axle is the most generous host, even letting us borrow his cooler for our beach day and gave us after sun lotion. The house is only a 10 minute walk to Lakeshore Drive (beach, restaurants). Axle was quick to respond to all questions and concerns. We appreciated the kitchenette in our room stocked with water bottles and coffee! Do not stay here if you are looking for any type of luxury accommodation. Although the room was tidy it was definitely not thoroughly clean. Long blonde hairs found on sofa, dust on all surfaces, web in ceiling corner, old/antique mismatched furniture, black blanket over window instead of curtain. Host explained that air mattress for second person was damaged and therefore was replaced by foam pad. We had to set this up ourselves, and bring out bedding from storage room. Contour sheet did not fit so had to improvise with other linens. Bathroom is shared with no outlet for blow dryer or hair iron, bath mat filthy, and other tenants items filled the shower stall. Note: wear sandals in shower. Random tables, bathtub, and chairs strewn all over the lawn I even noticed a knife on the table in the entrance that stayed put the entire duration of our stay. Not very welcoming! If you are allergic to cats do not stay here, as one lives on site. To get to our room we bad to climb 3 flights of stairs and enter through 3 doors, one of which needed a very finecky skeleton key. I will say that the room was beautifully air conditioned, and other tenants were friendly. Overall, we are glad we stayed there because we were on a budget. With that said, we won't be returning as we are two ladies that enjoy simple pleasures when on vacation.

Response from Penticton:
The plastic knife beside the entrance used for opening mail has since been removed to avoid confusion.

I'm a farmer from the North Okanagan who moved to the beautiful city of Penticton. Locally I work for the vineyards and wineries in the area as well as nursing casually in the hospital. In my spare time I tinker on engines, exotic vehicles and manage an airbnb.
