Tucked away on the NW side of Surprise Valley, at the base of the Warner Mountains. Built in the 1890's, this remodeled one bedroom one bath apartment offers quiet solitude replacing the noise of city life with the soothing sounds of nature, and the glare of city lights with the Milky Way.
Step outside and view the creek from the arched bridge spanning Mill Creek leading from the house to the old orchard, or take a short walk up Lake City Canyon to view the historic Lake City Flouring Mill.
You might see a cattle drive right down the street in front of the house. You might see a bald eagle flying in the skies over Surprise Valley. Just depends on the time of year you are here visiting. We are nestled right up against the Warner Mountains at an altitude of about 4200 ft. We get snow in the winter with chilly temperatures. We do have a ski lift about 15 miles from the house. It is small but lots of fun.
There is a creek that runs along the side of the property. You might want to cool your feet or sit on a rock and let the cool water wash over your legs.
The couch sleeper in the common space is really a futon.
