The Miyazaki Bathhouse, an Historic Landmark nestled in the Sacramento Delta's winding waterways, is a traditional Japanese Bathhouse (now run privately) and includes our poetic lodging quarters upstairs. 1-3 couples in your group may stay at a time. 3 separate sleeping areas, kitchen and old world tea parlor await you. Enjoy your 2 hr. Soak & Steam in the evening under the moonlit sky lights! You will be transported.

The space

Suitable for 1 - 3 couples. (see prices for extra guest beyond 1 couple)The Miyazaki is a place of serenity where you can soak in our deep tubs and defoliate with our home made salt scrubs ($5 charge p/p) and delight in a selection of essential oils ($5 charge p/p) in the steam room. Fresh hot ginger root tea available in cold months, fresh ice cold mint & lemon tea in hot months Then fall into the deepest slumber in the very comfortable beds of this utterly charming historic boarding house (now a whole flat) and be amazed that you are partaking in an ancient ritual in the only functioning historic Japanese Bathhouse (Osento) left in the country.

The Miyazaki opens onto the charming tree filled community park plaza where we have tables and chairs for you to enjoy a meal (barbecue too) or just hang out.
There is also an upstairs porch where you honestly feel like you're in a combination of New Orleans ghost style french quarters, a little town in Mexico with Japanese influence!

Guest access

The whole building is accessible, however Soak, Steam & Lounge in Osento (lower level) has a 2 hr. limit and 2 slots per day are open for day users only.

Interaction with guests

We welcome you, show you the ropes, give you a map showing the interesting things to do and leave you to enjoy the space and area.
We are always available by text or phone if you need something.

Other things to note

There are art galleries, fun gift stores, fishing, boating and plenty of historic sites to see.

This was a tranquil and convenient retreat for our party of three. Eugene and Rose could not have been more courteous and accommodating before and after our stay, and the premises had as much local charm as advertised. I'd stay here again!

The Miyazaki Bath House is a very special place. It was lovelier and more relaxing than I expected. We had a lot of space and privacy. Rosa provided the best customer service.

Eugene & Montserrat User ProfileEugene & Montserrat is a superhost.

My wife Montserrat and I are both artists and we have happily made many artistic touches to our beloved Miyazaki Osento.
We both love hot springs, indeed fell in love at one which is why we have dedicated the last 10 years to restoring this historic bathhouse. We love it and hope you will too!
