Entire building was under construction. Floors, carpets, walls were gutted. Did not feel safe at all walking through this to get to a tiny room. She wanted more money in cash than what it was listed for to be paid once we arrived. Advertised with two double beds and a single bed (3 total). But only had two beds. Very difficult to get a hold of. Long delays with messaging. Was told to message upon arrival and would be let in to drop off our luggage. She made it seem like she was there. Someone who is not the host pictured answered but after a long wait. We stood outside the apartment for 20 mins waiting for her to come down. Where she wanted us to leave our luggage was literally in the building's common stairwell landing where unsupervised children were running around and multiple construction workers were working. No way will I leave my personal belongings in such a location. Would never pay any amount of money to stay in a building under full unsafe renovation and sketchy hosts who false advertise, arrive late, respond after long delays in messages, want more money in cash upon arrival, and arrange very suspicious and unsafe circumstances for holding luggage. We obviously did not stay here and promptly left after such a horrible experience.
My experience started with a rude, abrupt phonecall, bordering on racist, with someone who was not the host that was pictured on the profile. Being let into a side door next to a boarded up shop made me feel glad that I had 2 other people travelling with me. Walking into the building, we were immediately faced with lots of uncovered electrics and fuse boxes and a dirty, unkempt corridor. We were given directions up to our room and had to navigate around washing machines that almost completely blocked entry to our room. We were then followed up by someone else who was not the 'host' where I was asked to write my name and number down, given the key and wifi code and she swiftly left without any other communication. The room was small with a double and single bed as advertised and some new kitchen equipment. However, the bathroom was disgusting! Dirty towels that made me glad I brought my own, dirt and hairs around the toilet, empty tubes of toothpaste and toothbrushes that I definitely do not think were new for us to use. I am glad that I only stayed one night as I would not have wanted to shower in there. This was a very expensive room (£90 for one night) and the only thing that made it bearable was the location which meant we were close to lots of places and did not have to spend much time in the room. Coming back late at night, I would not have felt comfortable if I was travelling alone and unfortunately I would not recommend this as somewhere to stay.
Very confortable studio with own kitchen and bathroom and Two confortable beds, suitable for three persons. Free wifi.Very good location close to Oconnell street, walking distance to Temple Bar, Trinity college.. Supermarkets open utill late in the area. There are indeed works in progress in the ground floor of the build ing, close to be finish. We didnt have any problem with noises.Hosts were very helpfull before and during our stay. Very recomendable for a quick brea in Dublin.
The building was still under construction which was kind of "scary" when entering it. But the rooms were clean and nice, quiet as well though we could hear some of our neighbors. The only downside is that the host when meeting her, was not really interested on meeting us as she was on the phone all the time and practically just dropped us off in the room with no greetings or explanation whatsoever. It would be great to wait for the building to be finished before offering it to people.
