The space
Nestled amongst the tea tree tops in a quiet, secluded part of Venus Bay, The Magic Beach Cottage is a lovely 2-bedroom house within walking distance to nearby beaches.
Just a 20 minute drive from Inverloch and a 30 minute drive from Leongatha, the house backs onto the dunes of the beautiful Cape Liptrap Coastal Park and the long stretches of beach in Venus Bay. Nearby Doyles Road (Anderson Inlet) Beach is just a few minutes drive away, and is a safer swimming option for young children. It also offers a designated dog off leash area all year round.

Named after a children's book written by a local, the house is airy and full of natural light. It features an open plan living/kitchen/dining area that looks out onto the spacious deck and the tree tops of Cape Liptrap Coastal park. It offers a fully equipped kitchen with stove, oven, a full-sized fridge and even a coffee maker. Tableware and pantry staples are provided.

At night or for those times you'd like to stay in, there is a 107cm satellite TV, a Blu Ray player, books and board games to keep you and your family thoroughly entertained.

You can relax in the sunshine on the large open deck overlooking the tree tops, or cook up a BBQ in the covered outdoor area.

The 2 bedrooms can comfortably sleep 6 people. Bedroom 1 sleeps 2, has a double bed and looks out onto the deck and spectacular tree tops. Bedroom 2 sleeps 4, has a double bed and bunk bed suitable for children. Bed linen is provided.

The house features reverse cycle air-conditioning, a wood combustion heater for those chilly nights, fans and double glazed windows to keep the temperature as desired. And if you'd like to do some laundry a washing machine is also available.

For fishing enthusiasts, there is a boat ramp with a jetty a 10-minute walk. The beach at Doyles Road offers inlet fishing or you can beach fish on any of the Venus Bay beaches. There is a tackle and bait shop located in the township. Tarwin Lower boasts several boardwalks along the picturesque Tarwin River with another boat ramp.

The Magic Beach Cottage is excited to welcome you to your next perfect getaway.

Some reviews from other sites. It was called Summer Breeze under previous management:

"The beach house had everything you could possibly need. A tv to watch outside, an outdoor heater on the deck and an amazing seating area on the decks to sit and relax. The kids also loved it with lots of room in the living areas for them to play."

"Be careful with the atmosphere, it will take you by surprise. Everything was there that you would need to never leave."

“Would definitely recommend!!! Noisy wombat. Lovely home"

Neighbourhood highlights

Experience the wild waters and golden sands of the South Gippsland coastline at Venus Bay, a small settlement nestled in vegetated sand dunes. The town has a population of around 500, but can surge into the thousands as anglers, surfers and families converge during holiday periods.

Travel just outside the town to five superb surf beaches patrolled by surf lifesavers in the summer months. Find safe, sheltered beaches ideal for swimming at the state's longest sand spit at Anderson Inlet.

Make your way along the coast from Venus Bay to Cape Liptrap for the chance to visit the old lighthouse and discover native Australian plants and wildlife.

The calm waters of Anderson Inlet make it an ideal destination for both boating and fishing. Cruise out and explore the inlet that extends all the way from Inverloch to the mouth of the Tarwin River and cast a line for flathead, salmon, tailor, whiting and trevally.

Things to do:
1. Beach fishing - Be guaranteed a good catch from Gippsland's 500 kilometres of coastline, offering extensive fishing opportunities if you know when and where to go.
2. Tarwin Lower to Venus Bay Cycling Track - A scenic and easy ride between two towns that follows the banks of the Tarwin River on a gently undulating shared pathway.
3. Walkerville Overlook Walk - Wander through coastal woodlands and take the side track to see Waratah Bay with the peaks of Wilsons Promontory in the background.
4. Cape Liptrap Coastal Park - Stretching along the coast from the sand barrier of Point Smythe to the sheltered waters of Waratah Bay, Cape Liptrap Coastal Park has strikingly beautiful scenery.
5. Shallow Inlet Marine and Coastal Park - Nestled between Waratah Bay and the majestic peaks of Wilsons Promontory, the sheltered waters of Shallow Inlet provide a secluded and peaceful setting for a range of water based activities such as fishing, boating and sailboarding.

Overenthusiastic mum. Crazy cat lady (and dog lady, after I get over my dear Gypsy's passing...any day now). Delayed onset reader. Broke theatre enthusiast. Seasoned armchair traveller. Mad scrabble-er. Closet hopeless romantic. Gleefully incompetent singer. Die hard Whitman, Pink Floyd and Camus fan. Believer in magic. And last but not least, eternal optimist. Oh, I also like sharing the quote below which is from R. Fulghum's It Was On Fire When I Lay Down On It: "I am a fragment of a mirror whose whole design and shape I do not know. Nevertheless, with what I have I can reflect light into the dark places of this world -- into the black places in the hearts of men -- and change some things in some people. Perhaps others may see and do likewise. This is what I am about. This is the meaning of my life." Welcome to The Magic Beach Cottage.
