Tritchmarsh Farm is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, only a few miles inland from the Jurassic Coast. Our Shepherd style hut is located in its own field under some oak trees. it has a small fence around it so that the horses in the field don't disturb you. if it is peace and quite you require then this is the place for you.
PLEASE NOTE. MARCH 2023
we have had quite a lot of rain. within the fence it is fine, but you will need boots to get across the field to the hut.

The space
the Shepherds hut has a full size double bed, for which i provide the bedding, there is a bench seat with a bunk above which can be used as 2 extra beds, ideal for kids. if these are required then you will have to provide your own sleeping bags and pillows.
it is well relatively well equipped with a small cooker/hob/grill, there is cutlery crockery, as well as a limited amount of pots and pans. There is also a small fridge. the hut has electricity and there is water from a tap outside. it is deemed suitable for drinking, but you might prefer bottled water. all the water on the farm comes from a well and is sometimes a bit discoloured.
it has a small pot bellied stove, for which i supply the wood if it gets cold enough to light it.
there is a toilet and shower block located behind the stables which is shared with any guests in the gypsy caravan. and the tipi
in the listed material it says i provide towels, i don't, so please bring all your own towels.
there is a fire pit outside that you can BBQ on, please bring own charcoal and equipment if required, or i can supply nets of logs .. please bring cash.
the hut can be booked for a minimum of 2 nights. I can do discounts for complete weeks.

Guest access
we are a small farm, we keep mainly horses both for competitions and driving, so there is usually quite a bit going on with them. we also have chickens, geese, cows and calves [sometimes], oh, and a pet racoon. We welcome guests who are interested in the animals, but obvious restrictions apply.

Other things to note
you are welcome to bring your dogs, but there are a few ground rules,.....
you need to bring bedding for them, i do not want them on the soft furnishings. they must also stay on a lead while on the farm, this is not negotiable and if adhered to will save the embarrassment of me telling you to put your dog on a lead. a 100m walk outside the gate they have all the space they could ever want to run around loose. we also have 2 farm dogs.... this is their home.

I am 5ft 2, 50 ish, going on 20 ish, determind to grow old disgracefully :) i love all animals, in a practical rather than fluffy bunny way. all the family ride, so there are lots of horses as well as other animals around. the house is usually a mess, but the garden is pretty neat. many years ago i travelled quite a bit, including back packing around the world on my own. these days holdays are a bit more civilised, skiing, sailing, getting ourselves invited to anyone who has an interesting holiday home in an unusual place. i also love entertaining, having Airbnb guests is just great, and i am happy to sort anything you require, or just leave you completely alone, whatever you like. the caravan and the countryside are here for you to enjoy. :)
