About this listing
A 400 year old 'A' listed historic mill in a magical location.
Set in 14 acres of rivers, waterfalls, ancient woodland with abundant wildlife, all under the famous Galloway night skies.
Fabulous, hiking biking and watersports are on your doorstep.
Ironmacannie mill has serviced the local population for over 400 years as a grain mill until it was converted into a dwelling house in 1990. It sleeps a maximum 10 people.; 3 bedrooms and a couple of fold down beds.
It is decorated very simply with real materials and a rustic palate.
It has 2 bathrooms and an extra loo.
The machinery room holds much of the original machinery of the mill, which can still turn when the water is diverted to the wheel.
The ancient kiln room door at the back takes you directly into the river. If you are only wishing to book two nights please read the 'other things to note ' section at the end of the description.
You will have the whole house and garden with 14 acres of land to play in. Fishing on site.
People with children should be aware that property is on the banks of a river and therefore potentially dangerous.

The hidden road is a special place, it has abundant wildlife, magical bent and twisted oaks and winding waterways.
The local area has many sporting and touristic activities, but we most like the diverse subculture. You don't have to look far to find a unusual happening, alternative thinkers musicians and artists lurk around every corner. Watch out!
We are proud to announce, that resident Freya Morton will be offering circus skills workshops: trapeze and acrobalance from April onwards. If you want to treat your self, Freya is also qualified to give therapy & sports massage.
You could bike in easily from Dumfries station. If you didn't fancy a 23 mile ride, a series of bone shaking buses could drop you at the hidden road end.
Unfortunately the easiest thing is to drive.
