Dear Sarah, I apologize for disappointing you and your husband. You are the first and only guests to think this way, but I thank you for your frank opinion.
I personally clean the apt every time to be sure, that it is clean for the next guest. This time I cleaned it 1 day before you came (as I left to Portugal myself), so some dust might have settled in the meantime, I am very sorry for that.
I understood, that you did not have any problems in checking in even I was away, as I organized my friend to meet you. She waited you 20 minutes extra and was flexible to come again after you checked-out, and left your cardigan to my apt. Is there something else I could have done to help you?
The whole residential area is old, but it is the most exclusive and expensive area to live in. The apt is old as well, but in livable condition. No one else has claimed to sense mould in the wet room, and I have lived in that apt many years without seeing or feeling any.
About the window blinds, yes, there has been some problems with them, but I will fix this as soon as I come back to Finland.
Last thing, the smell of cigarettes. I do not smoke at all. Unfortunately, even it was prohibited, my previous guest did and I was very disappointed to find it out. I have done everything to refresh the air and I did not notice any smell anymore. Those guests stayed few weeks ago, and I have also had people coming in between you and them, who did not smell that either. But of course, with sensitive nose, that smell can be found in any old hotel rooms and restaurants, too.
With Airbnb prices, I am afraid, that there are no 5 star hotels and service – but if you are looking for those, I highly recommend you to book one 😊
