Exceptional check-in experience

Recent guests gave the check-in process a 5-star rating.
Llantysilio Hall, built in 1872, is one of the finest country houses in North Wales, located just outside Llangollen. The estate is on the bank of the River Dee close to the historic Horseshoe Falls and the Llangollen Canal. All guests are welcome.

Our bookings are for exclusive use only, meaning no other guests will be on the premises during your stay.

The space
This is a large Victorian house. Our bedrooms are of different sizes. Guests are offered free and exclusive access to our entertainment rooms, as well as a 2-room modern kitchen facility. We charge by the number of guests, and not rooms.
Our minimum group charge on weekends is 16 guests. Our minimum stay on weekends is 2 nights, and 3 nights over Christmas and New Year.
The Airbnb classification of the type of property only shows 3 categories; entire home, private room or shared room. The Hall is neither of these. While we have the entire listed space available for bookings, this constitutes 50% of the overall building area, leaving some areas not accessible to guests.
During the week we allow smaller group bookings, yet we have a minimum charge of £280 per night.
Please bear in mind that Airbnb can only quote up to 16 guests. Any additional guests over the 16 are accommodated by special arrangement and at an additional charge to be agreed in communication between guest and host, either by special offer or by an alteration request.
We are not licensed to serve meals at the house. Yet, guests are welcome to use exclusively a 2-room modern kitchen facility to cook their own meals. If guests choose to eat out there are plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby. Some guests prefer to use caterers or bring their own chef, which is also fine by us as long as they adhere to health and safety rules.
No open flames are allowed on the premises, or any flammable materials. Also, the use of smoke machines is prohibited as these trigger our fire alarm.
We adhere to local rules and regulations, particularly where restrictions are imposed by the state.

Guest access
Functions and events held in our formal rooms, are normally booked under another listing 'Llantysilio Hall - Memorable Events'. Such rooms include, the front hall, drawing room and piano room, main dining room, library and snooker room. Our grounds are also available for special events.
Guests can freely enjoy 10 acres of grounds within the property and walks down to the river or along the road by Llantysilio Church and the adjoining Horseshoe Falls.

Some pets are allowed by special request. Walking with dogs down to the river bank is fine as long as they are kept on a leash as part of this area falls outside our boundaries and guests are likely to encounter grazing sheep and cattle.

Other things to note
Free parking is available for all guests whatever vehicles or bikes they may have. When no events are being held on the grounds, guests will have access to the gardens. Young children must be monitored by adults at all times.
Our stairs, between various levels within the house, do not have infant gates on landings. Infants and small children within the premises must be accompanied by adults at all times.

Neighbourhood highlights

Being on the bank of the River Dee, the site is adjacent to the historic Horseshoe Falls and the Llangollen Canal (a World Heritage site). The area offers a multitude of outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, white water rafting, canoeing and climbing. For a less energrtic activity, a walk down to the river from the Hall and then onto the Horseshoe Falls passing by the old Llantysilio Church, is advisable. Also a ride on the Llangollen steam railway or a horse-drawn boat trip on the Llangollen Canal. Llangollen is also home to the International Musical Festival, the Eisteddfod held in July each year, where a young Pavarotti once performed his first ever international concert.
The walk to Llangollen (30 minutes) is best by the Canal side since the main road into the town does not have a continuous pavement.
