Villa Oasi in Castiglioncello was the last leg of a 4 stay trip through Italy. The Villa is a nice place of peace and tranquility close to the seaside, it is about 10 minutes of walk from the center (which is quite busy), and about 15 mins from the beach. Parking is easy and if you go by car it is also very convenient to go for other beaches along the coast. It is a great location.
Chiara and Iacopo were great hosts. Very helpful (e.g. recommendations), patient (sorry for the trouble) and flexible (e.g. when it comes to arriving). So the first great thing about Villa Oasi is the hosts - thank you very much for your hospitality.
Villa Oasi was the family home and only recently Iacopo and Chiara have started to open it for guests - it features a large garden (shady, pine trees), downstairs is a large living room (hall) that you can use, on the first floor there is a number of rooms (5?) - Camera Ester being one of them, right next to the staircase. It has its own balcony and bathroom. Also on first floor you will find amenities to make good coffee and tea, to sit inside and outside on a balcony. The material used in the Villa is of very good quality, nnow and then showing some little marks of time - we quite liked it. The room also features a large, soft bed, more than enough space for your clothing, long table with 2 chairs along one wall anda refridgerator, which can be noisy at night (we pulled the plug at night). The room is spacious, the balcony excellent and the window front great - in addition, the location is quiet and you can sleep with doors to balcony open. One word of caution, since you will not find that in Italy often: The hot water is really hot - mind that.
So, it is a great place for exploring Castiglioncello and Rosignano Marittimo. We also did varous trips (Vada, Pisa, San Gimigano, Volterra - the latter 2 take 90 mins to go to and the beaches). It is a good place, thank you very much for the good time we had at Villa Oasi - truely and oasis.
