A peaceful space with wood stove heating and wind powered lighting , rustic yet with all the amenities needed for a relaxing break.

Two double beds.

Large kitchen/dining area and comfortable lounge with two huge bohemian sofas .

Lovely shared garden with free range chickens and a hot tub.
(£40 for first night then £25 for consecutive nights)

The space
Tranquil setting with a boho feel.Two main sleeping areas with 2 double beds a blow up double bed and single camp bed .
If you have paid extra for bedding and towels we ask all guests to strip beds and put all used linen in the laundry basket in the downstairs bedroom.
There are basics like tea coffee sauces spices and oil in the kitchen cupboard and theres milk and Porridge, if hens are laying eggs too.
There is a washer you can use in the 'panic room' next to loo (basically a store room !)
We have a heavenly hot tub outside, and a fire pit in our shared garden, give us a nod and well load you up with wood to warm up after your dip !!!
We have a barn next door that we use for parties, and you are welcome to book out our glamping site with Four units ,(see air bnb woodland yurt s Ashkey and Yewberrie, Rosa Gypsy pod and Bramble retro van, Great Strickland) and the camp site and Have a knees up if you so wish !!
We do have cats and dogs on the farm if you have allergies to pets this is not the accomodation for you.

Our village has a great pub a 10- 15 minutes walk away. A twenty minute bike ride or a 5 minute car journey can bring you to Larch Cottage Nursery, the best garden centre in England!! ( with a beautiful restaurant… you can sit out on the veranda and believe you are in an Italian Garden .
Mill yard Cafe ,Morland (open Wed to Sun) is 5 mins in opposite direction and does lovely breakfasts and lunches plus fantastic wood fired Pizzas on a Friday.
Lowther Castle is the other side of the M6 and boasts a huge children’s play castle , with zip wire etc as well as beautiful gardens and another quality cafe.
In Askham just a half mile from here are two great pubs , The Punch Bowl and The Queens Head ,Askham hall and gardens , has another great eateries the Allium garden cafe which makes wood fired pizzas till late and the Health Barn, a great place to relax and be pampered.
The Chip shop in Shap is exceptional! It does stunning fish and chips and now pizzas too! Order on line or call in and wait!
Fantastic mountains lakes and wild swim spots all within a 10 to 45 minute car ride away, and gentle walks in the local area.
A perfect area for cycling and just off the coast to coast route.

I am home based lover of mountains and wild swimming…on a 14 acre site, close to Lowther castle and Askham and Helton fells.
We set up a glamping site in 2017 in the woods we planted 25 years ago!
I'm married with three children, two daughters 34 and 20 and a son of 22.
We live a wild life on a farm with a few sheep, horses, a dog, hens and geese.
My husband heads his own Engineering business as well as juggling work here on the farm. We are both very green in our vision.
We grow lots of our own veg and fruit in our garden and polytunnels and have lots of fruit trees and shrubs.
In summer we have volunteers who help out in return for food and lodging.
I love gatherings where the gin and wine flow …and to dance around fires! We often go to see bands at weekends or have parties in the adjoining barn next to our house.
And that's us in a nutshell, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!!

During your stay

My husband Tom , myself and our kids are about to help in any way, and we are happy to talk whenever or just leave you to it. All very friendly and welcoming.
We can put on a breakfast if you arrive late and want a little TLC! But generally I leave milk out and porridge sachets .
Please message with an arrival time and we will do our best to have the fire on for you particulary if you are late arriving.
