Iowa State University is nearby, as is the Animal Disease Lab, Barilla Pasta Factory.

The space

Old Town Inn is a great place to stay all year round. Free concerts at the band shell in Summer, walk down town all year, it is peaceful and quiet, but close to night life. The Aquatic Park is nearby, walk to the hospital and McFarland Clinic in five minutes. The city bus system is 1 1/2 blocks from the Inn. In the fall, ISU football is popular. Concerts are on campus, as well as the beautiful Reiman Gardens. Ames is located in the center of Iowa, near Des Moines, most destinations are less than a few hours drive away, including the Des Moines International Airport. As you arrive, you will see tree lined streets. In your rooms you will look out on birds and local wildlife. In the afternoon, fresh baked cookies are appreciated. We hope you will enjoy our home as much as we do.

Pamela and Gregg were great! I stayed for 10 days for business and the place was clean and there was some food they had placed in the fridge and cupboards to get a guy through a day or so til he could get groceries. Great place I’ll definitely be staying here again

Nice and historical place in the center of Ames, green streets and quietness. Clean, comfortable place with all what you need and with many small extra things you hardly expect from host usually. You will find books, cell phone charger, a folder with interesting info about place to visit in Ames and Iowa, some tea, some bred and more. Communication is very good. And you always get help if you need. I am very grateful to Gregg and Pamela, they made my stay in Ames so nice and left no space for troubles.

We loved Pamela's place. It was quiet and spacious. I loved the screened porch - it was a beautiful spot to read, meditate, or enjoy morning coffee. The kitchen was well equipped and stocked with everything we needed to feel at home. We were visiting a seriously ill family member, so the respite at Pamela's was just what we needed.

The place is in old, historical part of Ames, quite and green. The house itself is a piece of history, and at the same time home-like, comfortable, very nice. Communication with host just perfect - you may call or text any time. And the place is especially good for foreign visitors, because when you are coming overseas you have to go to grocery store, to charge your phone. And in Old Town Inn you will find some fruits, some tea, some oatmeal, sugar... So you will not starve to death before you get to grocery store which is in walking distance. And what if you came from country where there is a different type of electric plug and your cell phone charger does not work here? No problem, just in case you may find phone charger in a kitchen and stay connected. Overall very good experience and my highest recommendations.

The space was larger than I expected, private and in great location to for getting around Ames both walking and driving. The communication was excellent and the one issue we had was immediately resolved. It was a great space for my family to spend a weekend.

Pam and Gregg were absolutely great hosts. Our flight was late in the night but Pam and Gregg were there to welcome us. It was a great place to stay over - felt totally at home. Every thing was taken care of so nicely. We thoroughly enjoyed the sun porch and the quiet neighborhood.
