Kahytten [Danish for ships cabin but also used to describe a fisherman’s retreat] is a cosy and warm beach house, one minute's walk from the beach in a lovely seaside village with good amenities. Ideal for couple or small family. Well equipped kitchen, central heating and cosy living space.

We look forward to welcoming guests to our newly decorated Beach House, with brand new shower room and private garden. This is a lovely space all year round with beautiful walks on beach and nature reserve.

DECEMBER/JANUARY Special Offer - half price Sundays to Thursdays. Still plenty of glorious sunny days down here by the beach. Come and enjoy a few days of long walks on the beach and nature reserve, hot chocolates at the infamous Knoops in Rye and dinners out at nearby country pubs before Christmas. There will be a luxury hamper awaiting you and soft plush towels in our beautiful little beach cabin.

We provide the perfect home from home decorated in a simple style which is reminiscent of my Scandinavian upbringing. Cosy and warm with modern central heating. Very well equipped with a comfortable double bed in the main bedroom, luxurious soft towels and 100% cotton bedding. There are built-in full size single bunk beds in the children's bedroom with a cute little staircase leading up to the top bunk. We can also provide a travel cot and/or infant cot if you require this. The newly refurbished bathroom has a shower and a baby/toddler bath but not a proper bathtub. Kahytten is close enough to the beach that you can hear the rushing of the waves if you open a window (and the ice-cream van in the summer). A large sideboard is full of toys and craft materials to keep your kids busy and happy.

The very beautiful beach with a huge difference between low and high tide, giving fantastic flat sand for walking and playing games year round, is the biggest asset of our little village. The beach is very popular with kite surfers and for other watersports such as kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing. There is also a large playing field just outside our drive, perfect for football, cricket practice, kite flying and rounders, and we are surrounded by meadows and marshland, with birds, sheep, horses etc. We are only a few minutes walk from a good co-op and a nice pub/delicatessen/butcher's. There is easy access to Rye and Hastings and beautiful walks and bike riding on the doorstep.

We live next door and are happy to help with any enquiries, give good tips on where to dine and go locally and are just generally around for anything guests might need. We have very good knowledge of the area and have three children of 10, 5 and 3 so we can help with recommendations of the best places to take children locally. We are of course also happy to just let our guests get on with enjoying their holidays without interference from us.
