I can offer you a room in a modern house with private bathroom. It is situated in a quiet neighboorhoud along a canal where are passing boats, kayaks, ducks and other birds.
5 min walk to the railway station where there are plenty of trains to Brussels (17 min), Antwerp (16 min), Gent (44 min), Bruges (1 hour 20 min), Leuven (22 min) etc. The trains in Belgium are comfortable and not too expensive (4,80 euro weekend return ticket to Brussels), so no need to rent a car.
Less than 2 hours train from Amsterdam Centr or Amsterdam Schiphol (airport) to Mechelen.
Direct trains from BRUSSELS NATIONAL AIRPORT: 11 min.
5-10 min walk to city center of Mechelen which is worth a visit: medieval houses, nice shopping, good pubs, etc.
My house is a nice spot for starting your cycling tour along different canals. I have some good maps and old but still good bicycles you can use. Or you can rent a newer bicycle at the railway station for 10 euro a day. Near to swimming pool and I can show you interesting running tours.
In the house:
- Nespresso coffee machine
- washing machine and dryer
- iron and iron board
Also television (only French and Dutch spoken) and DVD.
Parking in front of the door, the first 15 min are for free, or 1,5 further it' s for free.
I speak perfectly French and Dutch, very well English and German, and Polish and Spanish well.
Other things to note
When the room is available, you can check in before 3pm. Just ask me.
Check in after 9pm is also possible, I can put in a key for you in the key box and than we see eachother next day!
No smoking inside
