We were in Wales for the weekend to tackle the Man vs Mountain challenge and Chris's place provided the perfect location for our stay. Stanley the stove was the ideal spot for drying kit post race. I would happily recommend Chris's place to others.

An outstanding location - great walking from the front door. Off-road parking for two big cars. Pub opposite has excellent food and good beers. Warm house with plenty of space and spectacular views. Bedding was first class. Big TV. Plenty of sockets (for laptops, phone chargers, etc). Local roads quite narrow with lots of bends, so allow time to reach e.g. Anglesey, Portmeiron, Llanberis. Strolling distance from steam railway to Caernarfon and Portmadoc.

If you are visiting Snowden with a large group intent on walking, this is a good location. It is situated near the base of the Rhyd-Ddu path and close to the Ranger path was excellent for us walkers--there is a walking path that will take you to both of them running directly beside the house. For those new to Snowden, the Rhyd-Ddu path has spectacular views without the crowds of some of the other paths. The house had a rustic and nice feel to it, and it's a pretty big place. The sitting room has nice views of the mountain, as does the garden. Our kids loved the garden, which is fenced in (mostly), good sized and nicely landscaped. There is a TV room, separate from the room with the views, that has satellite/cable and lots of channels for those who wanted it in the evening. I believe there were beds for 9, so plenty of space for the 7 of us. The location has no cellular service, but the Wi-Fi was strong enough to run 5 devices simultaneously, so no complaints. The Welsh Highland Railway stops in Rhyd-Ddu and was a family favorite--again, our kids loved it. Also, the pub/hotel/restaurant across the street from the house has a good selection of beer on tap, good whiskey and a nice menu. We ate there two nights and we're pleased with the quality (and convenience). Chris was easy to get a hold of and sent me a very detailed list of house notes, local sights, and things to do in the areas. -Jason Davenport

The house was great and much bigger than we had expected from the pictures. Plenty of room for our group of 9, or even more people if you wanted. The area has plenty to do and is ideally suited for climbing Snowdon - from the living room window you can even see the cafe at the top. Chris has helpfully provided loads of information of things to do. The house was clean and tidy and everything we could have asked for, and Chris was very helpful.

Response from Chris:
So glad you and your group enjoyed your stay but would point out that only 9 people can stay at the house.

The perfect location for hikers wanting to tackle Snowdon, with the Rhyd-Ddu walking track starting right outside the front door, and beautiful views of the mountain and village from this cottage. We loved sitting around the log burner in the large lounge room with the wind howling around outside. A great place to relax with tired legs after a walk. Plenty of space which was ideal for our large group staying here - The beds are split between four bedrooms tucked away upstairs and the two bathrooms with separate toilet rooms meant we didn't get in each others way too much when getting ready to go out. Really peaceful picturesque location in the village, and only 20 paces from the lovely Cwellyn Arms Pub, which I'd rate as one of the top places to eat in Wales!
