Our cosy and comfortable room is upstairs in the Cortijo. We have some of the purest water and air in the world here. Once you have parked your car you have easy walking access to the village, countryside and mountains. Beautiful walks and views.

The space

We are in Lanjaron the historically famous gateway to the Alpujarras, in the foothills south side of the Sierra Nevada mountains, and on a clear day in the winter it's possible to see Africa. We are great hosts, we know a lot about the area, and we have wifi internet.
Breakfast is included. Also I am an amazing Raw Food Chef, and am a Cealiac so can uncook, cook gluten free dishes, and also other dishes for people with intolerances, all meals are made from organic, or local produce, we have our own eggs. Expect healthy interesting breakfast menus.
We have dogs, cats and chickens, so you have to be an animal lover. We are Artists, and have a studio where we sculpt make and paint. We have 25 Avocado trees 5 different types, we use organic and Permaculture methods and we recycle.
At the moment the pool is up and running so don't forget your costume to have a refreshing swim.

Guest access

Avocado Hideaway has easy access to Lanjaron being right in the village but in the country at the same time, very tranqiullo. We have a pool right by the house. The guests can use the pool all the time of their stay and can sit in the garden .
The Alpujarras is a unique area of Andalucia 50 minutes to ski resort, 40 minutes to the beach and 50 mins to Granada historical city, home to the Alhambra.

Interaction with guests

We are happy to interact with our guests and have our guests interact with us, that's if they want to, and if they wish peace that's fine too. We will be present while they stay. The bathroom is shared and our bedroom is of limits thanks.

Other things to note

We can arrange horse riding, walking and mountaineering, wild food walks, raw food workshops and vegan cooking workshops. The house up stairs has no heating though we can provide a gas heater.

Pam gave good, clear communication before our arrival and met us at the bus stop which was a great help. It was only 3-5 mins walk to her house. They are based in the residential part of the town, just off the main road. It is about 10-15 mins walking from cafes and restaurants. The house is a small old-fashioned finca with 1 room downstairs, and shower room and 2 bedrooms upstairs. Our bedroom was big enough for us with a nice view to the mountains. We stayed one night, and left early for a bus the next morning so didn't stay for breakfast.

My stay with Pamela and Zeph was amazing, beyond my expectations for an air bnb, they were such great hosts, I learnt LOADS from them, about their diet, raw food, the local area and beyond! They were extremely flexible allowing me space or happy to have me join them, they provided meals at a fair cost, they have lovely Dogs and Cats who are very much part of the Family. The room was nice and cosy and the cottage homely, the views from the garden were stunning and it was amazing to see the avocados growing and being picked. I would reccomend a stay with Pamela and Zeph, they have become friends :) x

Pamela, Zeph and their furry friends offer a warm welcome on their mini avocado farm. Full of interesting tales and offering tasty home cooking, two relaxing nights in their home was the perfect end to our trip.

We did not meet Pam on this occasion but were greeted by her partner Zeph who was very relaxed and welcoming, making us feel at home. We had some interesting conversations about sustainable living, gardening and the local farming communities. Zeph has a very detailed understanding and knowledge of the area and spent time with us showing us walks and areas of interest on his maps. We felt really well looked after and enjoyed the delicious breakfasts especially the eggs from their hens. The place was really clean and cozy. They had a few cats and dogs that were equally friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Our stay with Pamela was a welcome relief from our hot drive from the cost the house is hidden away on the side of the barranco of Lanjaron, we could relax under the fantastic shade of an incredible avocado tree that was dripping with ripening avocados!! We woke to a stunning view across the valley, had a refreshing shower then downstairs to the veranda to have a delicious breakfast of freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh eggs from their hens and of course stimulating conversation about the issues of education, Europe and the world. Lanjaron is the spa village of the Alpujarra famous for its pure water. In fact on our way out we filled our bottles up with the fresh water pouring out of the Spring. Although a short stay Pamela and Sef were very welcoming, relaxed and calm. We felt very at ease.

Pam and Zeph made me feel welcome and it was great sharing stories and experiences. The room and bathroom were both spotless! Great location at the doorway to the Alpujarras. Fresh eggs and freshly squeezed orange juice made for a yummy breakfast :)

Pamela and Seth are warm, welcoming and hugely interesting to talk to - as are the dogs, Bento and Bella, and cats, especially Panda. X They've a lovely wee Finca ticked off the main road. Simple but cosy and full of character - and a great shower. If Pamela offers you some of her special breakfast say yes - it's awesome!
