The space

Your private room in this 2 bedroom, shared bath apartment is a convenient and welcoming retreat from the sights & sound of the city. Your room extends off of a comfortable and spacious Brooklyn apartment that invites you to call it home. In the sunny, spacious living room (with sleek, art deco dinette set for computing or eating) you can lounge about, prepare for your day, or relax in with dinner or a late night snack as the day winds to a close. The kitchen is fully stocked should you want to prepare or reheat a meal here. Breakfast items are provided for all guests. The bathroom, located down the hall from the kitchen includes a tub for soaking after a long day & basic toiletries for you to enjoy.

Guest access

There is a rad Star Trek-esque door buzzer in the hallway that permits you to see video feed of your visitors outside the building. Coin-operated laundry as well as trash & recycling are in the basement. The rooftop features panoramic views of Manhattan and Queens and is furnished with patio furniture & a grill should you want to gather or entertain up there.

Interaction with guests

I will not be present during your visit. Please do not hesitate to contact me if there is anything you need. My roommate works long hours outside of the apartment. You may run into him--but the chances are slim! He can assist you if you find there is something that you need or if you have a question about travel around or visiting NYC.

The neighbourhood

You will be well situated in proximity to every convenience during your stay: two organic grocery stores (1 is open 24/7 and is very reasonably priced), there are a bunch of really affordable grocery stores in a 10min walk radius as well as a post office, several coffee shops/bars/restaurants & all major banks are a block or two away. We are not too far from Pratt & St. Joseph's college, where you can take in beautifully manicured grounds and artwork. The residents of this neighborhood are white-collar families and young professionals. It's a very safe & friendly neighborhood where wide avenues, tree-lined streets, and Edwardian architecture abound.

Getting around

You will be located right on the Fort Greene/Clinton Hill border on a quiet street just 1/2 a block from the main strip of restaurants and shops. The A, C, F trains are less than a 15 min walk away at Jay Street Metro-Tech and Clinton-Washington stops, as is the G train (5 min walk) & the B/Q/R trains at DeKalb Ave (15 min walk). The B54 bus stops at the top of our block every 5 minutes and takes you to both Jay Street & DeKalb stations in about 5 minutes. Fort Greene Park is less than 10 min walk away, there's a citibike station across the street should you wish to hop on a bike during your stay.
