In a traditional Irish kitchen plates and cups were kept on display in the kitchen dresser.In Glebe Cottage the central heating is heated by a water boiler fitted to the original open fireplace. Guests will be provided with locally cut peat turf for fuel. The cutting of turf is a tradition that goes back millennia in Ireland.

Glebe Cottage is a two hundred year old thatched farm house on the edge of Kilmacrenan village, where you can enjoy a taste of days gone by in Donegal. It is conveniently located on the main road from Letterkenny to Glenveagh National Park and is walking distance from Nora's Traditional Irish pub. The cottage is part of a group of thatched farm buildings, one of which has been converted into a café where guests can enjoy a 20% discount on fantastic food as well as a bit craic with the locals.

Our listing clearly states that there is no television. The Majority of visitors staying in a two hundred year old Irish cottage do not expect or want a TV instead they do old fashioned things like speaking to one another. This is part of the romance of staying at Glebe Cottage. We do not now nor will we ever have a TV. .
