Experienced travelers rejoice! Take in the historic charm of my spacious 7BR/4BA West End manor. 24-hour keyless entry to both the house and your own bedroom. Guests have full access to the kitchen, 3 shared bathrooms, dining/living rooms and reading lounge. Free WiFi included. Plenty of free parking. The West End: Historic family homes, quiet street, only 5 minute drive to BJC and SLU campuses, 7 min to downtown. Exactly 1 mile from Forest Park / BJC hospital and Wash U med school.

The space
Beautiful Victorian home with tons of original hand-carved woodwork and plenty of character. First floor is the common area with foyer, living, dining, kitchen and half bath. Laundry/sunroom off the kitchen leads to the backyard deck. Bedrooms are on 2nd and 3rd floors along with 2 shared baths (host uses the master bath).

For the introverts, the walls are thick and the WiFi is quick. Feel free to relax in your bedroom or the reading lounge. For the extroverts, there are a total of 7 bedrooms shared between myself and fellow travelers, so feel free to mingle on the common floor at your leisure.

Guest access
Full 24-hour keypad access to common area (kitchen/living/dining/outdoors) and 3 bathrooms. Bedroom has keypad with unique code. Feel free to come and go as you please. Be sure to open/shut doors quietly and lock up behind you.

Other things to note
My band rehearses downstairs on either Friday or Sunday nights. We're always done by quiet hours, and while it's not super loud from upstairs, you'll know we're playing. I always have extra earplugs, just ask!

I have other listings for this house, and rent other properties as well...not my full-time gig, I just love to fix up and share old houses!

Our neighborhood was built to support the 1904 World's Fair. Academy has had ups and downs since then, but we're back on an "up." Many of the homes are in early or mid-stage renovation. It's exciting to see these wonderful old homes being lovingly brought back to life! The Central West End (a few blocks over) has a huge variety of shops, restaurants, galleries, comedy, music, nightclubs and 24-hour cafes/coffee shops for your entertainment needs. We have a few bookstores and even the World Chess Hall of Fame. My place is a 5-minute bike ride or Uber to Forest Park (Zoo, golfing, tennis, art/history museums), BJC, SLU, and only 1 mile to I-64, 2 miles to I-44.

San Diego native living in St Louis. Who I am: Self-diagnosed rock 'n' roll junkie, lager aficionado, frequent flyer. When I'm not on or around the stage, I run an engineering consulting firm that designs utility-scale solar and wind farms (the huge ones you can see from 42,000 feet). It's awesome being able to travel all over the globe -- and also knowing that my work is helping to offset the spent jet fuel with clean, renewable energy. Why I host: Because my girlfriend is sick of my jokes? But for real -- I grew up with a huge (and boisterous) extended family, and have made a point to recreate that sense of community and warmth in every facet of my life. I've shared my home with bandmates and/or coworkers for over 10 years now, so hosting and hospitality is just part of everyday life. I have a bit of an obsession with revitalizing big historical houses and then filling them with awesome people. Old houses are always a work in progress, and your Airbnb trip helps keep me stocked up with sandpaper, CitriStrip and Minwax... believe me, it goes quick. Why stay with me? As a near-constant traveler, I've come to rely on Airbnb as my home away from home. Living out of a suitcase gets old quick, so having creature comforts like a real kitchen and laundry makes a world of difference. The whole point of staying in someone's home is that it feels like home: real silverware, real furniture, and most importantly -- real people who can help you navigate your way through a new city with great insider tips. Even though my big-kid job keeps me plenty busy, I'm always happy to lend a hand, an ear, and a beer. Contact me anytime!

During your stay
I travel for business often and I know it can be hectic. Schedules change, things get forgotten. Plus, airplanes make me *really* crabby, so I definitely appreciate "hands-off" hosts, and I pass that courtesy on to you. But not to worry! I will always be reachable by phone to answer any questions or address concerns -- though there shouldn't be many. And if you did forget something, just ask... I may have an extra lying around. And if not, Aldi is just 3 blocks away. That said, when I'm not jet-lagged, I'm pretty outgoing, so if you do want some insider recommendations, or maybe grab a bite or hit the town, let me know.
