Welcome to our hand-crafted shepherd's hut, situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty only 4 miles from the city of Truro. The hut is self-contained with cooking facilities, ensuite bathroom with shower, wood burner, comfortable double bed and private patio.

We love meeting people from different countries.

Our place is great for walkers and cyclists as we have direct access onto the mineral tramway which stretches across to Portreath. Footpaths lead to Trelissick Gardens as well as two pubs which serve good food and local ales.

Had a wonderful short stay. Hope to be able to return soon for a longer trip. Considering it’s size the hut is extremely well equipped and is a lovely cozy place to stay whatever the weather outside.

We've stayed in a couple of shepherds' huts before and this one was very special. Everything was very well thought. The hosts really thought about their guests and made sure everything is there for a great stay. Very warm and smiley welcome with good local advice. We found duck eggs, Cornish butter, milk and wine waiting for us. There is a small 'mini bar' type fridge. Could not hear a thing apart from the birds. Reception was good: 4g with ee. Bed were comfy. Well deserved 5 stars!

Had a wonderful stay at Howard's Hut and would highly reccomend it. We stayed for a couple of nights and were made to feel very welcome straightaway. The hut is lovely and cosy, with beautiful little touches. Fresh duck eggs and local Cornish butter and biscuits were left for us. Bev and Howard were full of recommendations and tips for our stay in Cornwall. A real gem!

A beautiful, quiet location and a great base for exploring Cornwall. The hut itself was gorgeous, spotlessly clean and had everything you need, including a hob and fridge. The ensuite was a real bonus! The hosts are lovely and happy to help if you have any questions (We immediately asked about local pubs, we visited two which were in walking distance). Would definitely book again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Howard's Hut. We had a very warm and friendly welcome, the hut had everything we needed. It is set in a peaceful and idyllic area with lots of walks and we had a very enjoyable meal at the local pub. Would definitely stay again!
