Gypsy wagon at Tidal Waters overlooking Penpol Creek

The space
Original gypsy wagon on private land at Tidal Waters, overlooking Penpol Creek. The wagon has a snug double bed (6 ft 2 inches x by 3 ft 5 inches), duvet, pillows, cupboard storage space, small table, radio, LED lights and rug. There are steps up to the wagon and a raised, loft-style bed with soft sheep's wool mattress.

Guests have use of Tidal Waters for showers, baths, cooking facilities, Wifi and general needs. The kitchen and main bathroom are shared.

Outside the wagon is a private terrace, table and chairs. A rustic barn by the river has a BBQ, gas hob cooker and cooking pots and pans.

There is parking at the property and level access to the house from the gypsy wagon.

The wagon is set in lovely gardens with water frontage to the creek where you can safely swim and launch boats.

Inside the house the kitchen has a fridge, cooker, microwave, tea and coffee making facilities, toaster, crockery, cutlery, glasses, saucepans etc. Coffee, tea, milk, sugar, bread, muesli, honey, jam and marmite will be left for you to help yourself to for breakfast.

While this is a rural location, there are houses nearby and plenty of facilities on hand at Lostwithiel and Fowey (shops, restaurants, libraries etc).

Penpol is a peaceful hamlet on the east side of the Fowey Estuary in a traditional rural farming area. Only two miles from the coast, it is an ideal base for exploring the towns and villages on the south coast of Cornwall.

A private mooring with direct water access is suitable for small motorboats, dinghies, canoes and kayaks.

4G mobile phone coverage is available in the wagon and superfast broadband Wifi in the house.

Surrounded by wildlife, there are kingfishers, otters, fish, swallows, swans and ducks on the river. And plenty of walks to choose from.

Penpol is 10 mins by car to the beaches at Lansallos and Lantic Bay and a short trip across the river by ferry to Fowey.

Village pubs, shops at Bodinnick, Lerryn and Pelynt and the historic towns of Fowey, Polperro, Looe and Lostwithiel for restaurants and other attractions.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to use the garden and have a cooking area for BBQs.

There is plenty of outdoor space for cooking by the river.

Other things to note
No smoking in the gypsy wagon.
As an original gypsy wagon, the snug double bed is not suited to couples over 6ft tall and is more like glamping.

The thick insulated canvas roof is nice and warm once the curtains are drawn. But it is not a luxury, heated B&B with en suite facilities.

There are wooden steps into the wagon and the bed is raised.

You can look at the stars at night and hear owls tweeting, as there is little light or noise pollution. It is a peaceful location for reading or relaxing by the river.
