Would live here if that was an option. Mark's friend kindly accommodated my midnight check-in, helped me into the building after a quick text and provided me with a set of keys. As advertised, his place is clean, comfortable and spacious. The MTR is a short walk or even quicker tram ride, so getting anywhere is convenient. Convenience everywhere. Convenience store across the street, hotel that attracts taxis next door and great food options every block. Mark has a washing machine, but there's a wash & fold shop a minute away that costs like $4 USD/load, so treat yourself. Wifi was good. Didn't bother with the nice TV. If you come during the humid months, the AC has your back. If I had any questions, Mark was available and responsive over (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). Would stay again. Thanks, Mark!

I can not imagine a best place to stay in Hong Kong. I absolutely would recommend this little oasis to everyone looking for a beautifully decorated, clean, luminous and warm house to enjoy the genuine atmosphere of Sai Ying Pun. The things that I definitively have enjoyed the most are the light, the generous size of the apartment, the cool decoration, the views from the living room and specially from the kitchen (I couldn´t stop looking at the sea and the ferries passing by) and the little details in the house that made my days like if I were in my own house. Maybe the worst for me were the five floors with no stairs but just because I came with a 5 months huge suitcase :-P

The location is superb! As there r buses right in front of the apartment! We had a great stay and will definitely book this place again when we return to HK :) *thumbs up*

What a great place! Everything went perfectly. We loved the place for its neighborhood feel and spaciousness. The apartment was very clean, stylishly-appointed, and looks just as pictured. It's an amazing space compared to most Hong Kong apartments, especially considering the very reasonable price. I think it was a great deal. The kitchen is roomy and allowed us to cook when we wanted. I would easily rent this place again and I recommend it highly to anyone considering a stay in Hong Kong. Thanks Mark!

Response from Mark&Lucy:
Hi Tim - I did leave a positive review for you already but seems like I may have jumped the gun. Just spoke to my cleaner and she informed me that you guys left the place in quite a mess and reeking of cigarette smoke. All of our sofa covers have had to be dry cleaned to get rid of the smell. You also left one of our white towels covered in blood. I am not quite sure what to make of all this but have to say I'm not impressed.

This was an interesting place in an area that I haven't been to before in HK. There are lots of old shops and Chinese herbal stalls around here, selling things that look a bit strange (dried stuff, wet stuff, some look edible, others not so much). I was met by a helper with keys about 5 minutes after I arrived at the outer door. The flat is on the 5th floor of a shop house in this neighborhood. There are quite a lot of stairs so with my luggage it was a nice challenge. The stairwell was a bit dark and grimy and there were old Chinese guys hanging around in their shorts looking a bit befuddled by my presence. However, it was all part of the experience. We are not talking about a hotel here! Anyway, the flat was clean and well furnished, nice and comfy, not a problem for me once I got in. Had to text Mark on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) several times to ask questions about how to use things, but we figured it all out in the end. This place is for people who are not fussy and overly freaked about down and dirty old Chinese neighborhoods. Its an area of HK that i think is going to disappear at some point as fast rising rents will drive these little shops away eventually. So, if you are keen on a slice of the local parts now, wander over here. Over all a good experience. Thanks for the stay and opening up your place to guests such as myself.

Just finished up work after nearly a decade. Will be traveling for the foreseeable future and enjoying life. Lived in HK 5 years so will no doubt be spending some time there. Fav places include Thailand, Japan and China! Location and time independence are my number one goal…
