Refurbished centrally heated three-storied villa of 180 sq.m. featuring a closed garage, separate 4 bed suite on the ground floor, living-room with fireplace and air-condition, master bedroom, large bathroom with washing machine, verandas, corridor & a spacious kitchen.

The space

The three-storied villa was built during the mid 90′s on a lot of about 1,200 sq. m.; situated just a five-minute walk from the large Monolithos Beach and restaurants, Mini-Market etc, is considered one of the nicest in Santorini. The Santorini International Airport is just seven minutes away by car (1.2 Miles/1.8 Km).

The approx. 180 sq. m. villa was thoroughly repaired during the Spring of 2013 and again in 2015; applied a fresh white paint inside and out, repaired plumbing where needed, installed window screens, two air conditioner units (in the living room and master bedroom), ceiling fans in other bedrooms, new oven with ceramic range, new Whirlpool clothes washer & dish washer, an automatic plant watering system, solar water heater, serviced the central heating furnace, installed a new 32'' LCD TV in the Living Room, a 24" in the Master Bedroom plus another LCD TV tset in the Ground Floor suite, all cabled via a new roof-top antenna, Wi-Fi, cordless DECT phone etc.

At the same time, the interior fixtures and furniture were improved and a wall-to-wall shag carpet laid on the living room and master bedroom oak wooden floors. In the living room an arched fire-place will add warmth and atmosphere during the winter months.

The villa is ideally for use by a large family or for sharing by two families or a large group of friends.

Guest access

We recommend that guests rent a car (most conveniently from the near-by airport upon arrival). Other options include ATV's or scooters.
With a car [all are air-conditioned], daily excursions throughout the magic island of Santorini are easy and comfortable.
Nevertheless, within a 5 min. walking distance, you can access the beach and a number of local fish (and other) restaurants or bars plus a convenience store (Mini-Market) in the Monolithos area.
The most convenient beach of Monolithos is located within walking distance from the Villa. If you have a family with small children, the Monolithos beach is your ideal destination. As a result of its shallow waters, big waves do not reach the beach. There is also an organized playground keeping kids busy until 7 o’clock in the evening. For teenagers or adults, there are beach volleyball and basketball courts, kiteboarding nearby as well as a soccer field.
Scenery: Spacious flat beach with dark-colored fine-grained sand and shallow waters, quiet and very well organized. Beach chairs are not too close one with another, so there is enough room for walking in between.

Interaction with guests

We can guide you before arrival, assist in making an itinerary of things to do, see, visit, experience on the island, etc.
In addition, a daily (or less frequent) maid service can be arranged at extra fee. Ditto for baby-sitting service.
A gardener is employed by us who looks after the garden on a weekly basis. An automated irrigation system is installed, so guests do not have to worry about watering the plants.

Other things to note

The Villa can be rented as a whole or separate (main house and 1st floor, accommodates six persons and/or the ground floor with its independent suite, accommodating four persons).

• We expect our guests to care about the Villa as if it was their own. The oak floors need to be respected from scratches.
• In case that more guests arrive than the number stated in the booking, this may be a reason for cancellation and for sure will incur additional charges. Hence Guests are encouraged to state the correct number of their party during booking in order to avoid complications and extra charges.
• Water is precious. TAP WATER is either from a well or desalination water from sea water. It cannot cause you any infection but it contains too much salt. It is advised to drink bottled mineral water. The Villa has its own large capacity cistern. It is refilled by calling the local water truck. Usually guests will not have to worry about the water level or supply. The gardener monitors this.
• Santorini has a problem with its sewage system. Used toilet paper and other waste should be thrown into the rubbish bins in the WC's, never into the toilet bowls. Help us keep the sewage system running!
• There is a Sun Panel on the roof for HOT water. Should hot water run out by heavy use, please pull up the ‘HOT WATER’ switch [RED light ON] on the electrical panel just outside the main bathroom. Wait for max 20 min then turn it OFF & you are ready to take a hot shower again!
• SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED INDOORS. We encourage guests to smoke in the outside terraces and also not to leave full ashtrays inside the house. Please respect that our next guests may be non-smokers. Thank you!
• Your towels and sheets are to be used only in the Villa. Please do not take them to the beach. It requires double the amount of energy and washing powder to clean them of the salt water and sand.
• In case that additional services such as cleaning, washing, ironing services are required, please arrange directly with our associates.
• The €45,00 'cleaning fee' charged covers the cleaning and laundry, ironing services required after your departure. Additional services which guests may require will be discussed privately and their charges will be agreed on a per case basis.
• Please do not to leave on excessive or unnecessary lights at night when out of the house (energy sensitive).
• Ditto for the air-conditioners when away or while the doors and windows are open!
• There is a land telephone line with a cordless phone. The Wi-Fi router is connected to this ADSL connection. Nevertheless, guests will only be able to make local calls from this line but receive calls from anywhere.
• 3/4G coverage for mobile phones is quite good in the area. Hence usage of Guests smart phones inside and out of the house presents no problem.
• Pets are not allowed.

A House Manual/Guest Guidebook describing more details re the use of appliances & other tips is available upon request.

Thank you for reading this section and respecting our House Rules during your stay!

You must also acknowledge
Must climb stairs - For the main and upper floors one to two flights of stairs.

Great location. The villa is just a 5 minute drive from the airport and only a 5 minute walk to what we found to be the best beach in Santorini. It's big and doesn't have loads of slippery pebals like some other beaches had. The villa itself is a little dated but nothing major especially for the price you pay. There are 4 separate bedrooms basically with 3 bathrooms. There was 8 of us but coule have got 10 in. The view from the villa in the morning is amazing. The sun comes up literally right in front of you. We visited in Augest and was up to see the sun rise most mornings at 6:30am. Beautiful. There are also a few shops and restaurants on the sea front aswell but not many. Would recommend going to Kamari or Oia for more restaurants. All in all it is a wonderful villa in a great location. Hire a car and your have a great time.

What a beautiful, relaxing and well-located villa! Although we were staying in the hottest part of the summer, the construction of the villa kept out the heat; we did not need to use the air conditioner very often. The host was helpful in making suggestions of places to visit, as was the housekeeper who works nearby - if we had any questions she was there to answer. Nearby Monolithos beach is an excellent beach for swimming - especially for families with children, as the beach is long and shallow, with calm waves. We miss it! The villa is only meters away from the beach - so easy for a early morning swim at sunrise. We rented a car, but there is a nearby bus stop. Our family had this spacious place to ourselves, so much space! Nearby is the best fish restaurant: Taverna Skaramagkas, on Monolithos beach - do not miss that restaurant. The villa is well situated to visit many sites - Akrotiri (do not miss that) and Ancient Thira, note: to reach you must go up a very long and winding road, you might want to walk instead of driving, or take the minibus (no guard rails). Villa within close distance of all the beautiful beaches.

The villa is very big and clean and can accommodate 10 people comfortably. There are 3 bathrooms. The Monolithos beach, which is a very nice beach, is only 100m away. You can watch the sunrise over the ocean from the villa. The location is a bit away from the Fira and Oia so it is best to rent a car/motobike to move around. Taxi is a bit pricey. 50€ to Fira, 80€ to Oia one way. Dimitris and Byron is easily reachable during the stay. Be sure to try the seafood restaurant Skaramagas just outside the street. It's delicious and cheap.

Me and my family spent a great time at the very big house which is only 5 minutes away from the airport by car. It is very nice funished and roomy. The porch and the upper outside is very big which means you always get your sunspot. It also has enough space to park your vehicles. Down the road is a regular supermarket and a small fastfood house. Besides there are three Restaurants. One of those is Sofias, a friend of byron. The Beach is very close to the house. It's about 3 minutes to walk. Unfortunately the mentioned fabric next to the house (200m) is very loud and in some case very smelly. Especially for the guests downstairs. The inside of the house was dirty when we arrived, we had to contact byron to send somebody to clean up. Which he did. Very Friendly! After three days the fridge fell out, which is just half as bad as you might think, because there is another one downstrairs. So After we told byron about the broken fridge, he bought a new one the same day. The day upon it was installed. The Communication with byron went pretty well cause of the Airbnb App. He tried everything to make our stay comfortable. Very friendly host!!

We (3 couples, 2 singles) loved our stay at Villa Monolithos. The property is huge and comfortable, especially in terms of shared space (living room, kitchen, and outdoor areas). The Master bedroom has 1 comfy king bed and an AC unit. Along with the living room, this was the only part of the house with AC. ACs weren't really necessary even though it was August. The twin bedroom is on the 1st floor and has 2 small twin beds - this is a really small room with no storage space. The loft area looking over the living room (no door) has a sofa bed and some storage space. And the downstairs suite is fully segregated and has 2 Queen beds and a ceiling fan. Sofia was great and always available for assistance - arranged transport independent transport for various parts of our group at different times and helped us get the ATV's. You will need those ATV's to get around the island as the location is approx a 20 min drive from any of the interesting towns or villages or sights. That being said you are literally steps away from Monolithos beach and a 5 min drive away from the airport. Check-in was very smooth and they were amazing and super flexible with check-out - allowed us to extend a few hours for free. Towels/ bedsheets could use an upgrade. Overall this was a great value for money stay with great hosts that were eager to be of assistance.

The Monolithos villa is a beautiful place to relax in Santorini, away from the crowds of Fira and Oia. We spent a week there as part of a vacation with 8 friends and had a great time, even without having a car (bus stop is close by and efficient). The terrace is perfect for meals or just enjoying the sea view, there is plenty of space in the house and it comes furnished with anything you might need. Byron is a great host and I would recommend this place for anyone visiting, with family or friends! Simply put, an amazing experience in beautiful Santorini.
