The house is stunning and has everything you need for a few days stay. The kitchen and garden area are perfect for a group, making it a perfect base for a few days exploring Gent. The centre of the city is a short tram ride away or a 25 min walk and there's lots of places to get food etc. locally too. Would definitely recommend to groups or families looking for a base and somewhere peaceful to rest their heads.

Fantastic location for our needs. Easy to drive to the Flemish Ardennes for cycling but close enough to the city centre for evenings out. Gent was about a 25 minute pleasant walk or a 10 minute bus or tram ride. Plenty of information in the house about local shops and restaurants, getting around and facilities in the house. Secure storage in the garage for our (expensive!) road bikes, which was an added bonus. Parking was easy enough, sometimes outside the house, sometimes in a nearby street. Plenty big enough for 6 adults staying. Would highly recommend this house as the communication, welcome and facilities were fantastic.

We had a fantastic time at Wouter and Sofia's beautiful home! The communication was excellent in advance (including a full emailed guide to the house and Ghent!) and Sofia was kindly waiting to greet us on arrival and introduce us to the house and area, including the excellent local bar 'rokebolle'! The house itself is perfect - beautifully designed, impeccably clean and very spacious (plus with fresh eggs each morning from the chickens!) It's a 20-30 minute walk into the centre, but only 5 minutes on the tram. Lastly, Ghent is a fantastic place to go for a weekend - some great architecture, history and superb mix of alternative and classic belgium beer pubs. Do not be put of by recent tragic events in Brussels, Ghent is well worth a visit and this house is a fantastic base for a family / small group. We shall come again!

Great house in Ghent with all that we needed for a short weekend stay. While the house is not in the very centre of the city it is well within walking distance and also very close to a local square with a market, shops and some bars. Wouter was easy to contact and polite in all dealings.
