Great location. In the main area of Trastevere. The street down is full of bars and restaurants for good and for noise. It can be very noisy at night, but the double window blocks the sounds almost completely. The flat itself is nice, fully equipped with everything you need, including the kitchen and all. The only down side of the flat is that it doesn't have a lot of sun light coming in the salon and the sleeping room. Maria was super nice to us: our flight back home was in the evening, so she let us stay in the flat until then and come clean the day after.

Maria Carla's apartment was perfect for our 4 day stay in Rome. It is on a bustling street in Trastevere with many restaurants, cafes, and bars. If you like walking, it's in an excellent location - we walked to or from the Vatican, Campo Fiori, the Spanish Steps, Colosseum, even home from the Borghese. And, if you want a taxi, there is a stand close by in Piazza Trilussa. The apartment was very clean and a good size for my husband, son and me. Maria Carla met us on arrival and provided a very thorough overview of the place and suggestions for eating and shopping. Know that the evenings can be quite loud with all the joyful chatter of the people on the street, but the windows close tightly to almost totally eliminate the noise. Highly recommend!

Maria Carla's apartment is in a great, very central area surrounded by lots of great and well-priced restaurants and lively nightlife. While we found this to be a good thing it may not be suitable if you are travelling with young children as it can get quite noisy, especially on the weekends. Maria Carla's apartment does have good double glazing which keeps out most of the noise though. The bathroom is a little on the small side but is fine for a short stay. The kitchen is lovely and had everything we needed to cook our own meals. The apartment is also in a great location to access lots of Rome's main attractions, whilst being away from the main tourist spots. We would recommend the botanic gardens, just a ten minute walk away from the apartment! Maria Carla also let us check in later to accommodate our late flight and her communication was very quick and clear before and during our trip.

Trastevere is the best neighborhood to stay in Rome. This Airbnb exceeded our expectation in everyway! Maria is a great host and you could tell that she put a lot effort to make her guest feel at home. If you are still looking for a place to book, this is the one for you!

We loved Maria's place! It's central to great restaurants and nightlife, near the Tiber River for sunset views, and the cobblestone streets add to the area's charm. We walked from the apartment to all of Rome's main attractions. Maria is very welcoming, and the apartment is very well equipped! A heads up, as with most cities on a weekend, there is street noise. If you're a light sleeper bring earplugs. Thank you Maria!!

The location was perfect for our trip - Trastavere was our favourite part of Rome for restaurants and bars, and we were still able to walk to the centre to see the sights. The apartment was lovely and Lorenzo was a helpful host. Would definitely recommend staying here!

We highly recommend this apartment, because of its central location, cleanliness, and wonderful airy space. Maria is very responsive, kind, and has done an exquisite job renovating the apartment. Everything is done nicely, from the wooden ceiling, tile work, floors, fully equipped kitchen with beautiful stove, artwork. My daughter and I felt very safe walking in Trastevere, there are usually people walking around until very late, and restaurants stay open late so it is a lively and happy neighborhood. The apartment is on the second floor, and the only door to get in is massive and super safe. One could literally stay within Trastevere for a whole week, and just wander around the cobblestone streets, stopping to eat and shop at countless restaurants and little shoppes. This neighborhood is awesome! Apartment is located only 2 minute walk to a pedestrian bridge, Ponte Sisto, which takes you to the beautiful Jewish ghetto. From there, just keep walking to Piazza Navona, Pantheon, and Trevi fountain. However, beware of the grocery store located on Via dei Pettinari right across from Ponte Sisto: one night, the owner yelled at my daughter in front of all the customers in line at the register, because she did not weight the bananas first!! It was humiliating to say the least. There are many other options to grocery shop, including the open air markets in Trastevere and Campo de Fiori. Also, every evening below Ponte Sisto, dozens of places to eat and shop open up along the river- one of the shops sells authentic beautiful jewelry and items made in Nepal and Tibet, the prices are very reasonable and the owner is the kindest person we met in Italy. At the Campo market, we bought a leather belt and several leather bracelets from the craftsman who sells leather goods, and his prices are also very fair for the high quality of the items he sells. He will even personalize items for people. We even went to Venice for one day during our stay: totally worth it, only 3 hours away by high speed train (check Viator). Minutes only from the Termini train station, we discovered the best Indian restaurant, New Delhi Indian Restaurant where we ate perfectly seasoned Indian fare and had the best service. The fact that we had this wonderful apartment to come home to every day after walking miles and miles, made all the difference. We would most definetly stay at Maria's apartment again, if we visit Rome again.

I'm an architect and I realize Stained Glass and love photography. I have made some wonderful trips, the most beautiful in Australia, Bali, Somalia, and I lived in Bruges - Belgium, but in the end I chose to live in Rome. I would be happy to furnish a good guide to my guests so that they can make the most of their stay in this beautiful city to discover.
